Hello everyone,

Sorry I have been gonefor several days, but we left in a hurry for a close family member having surgery.

For an update, our petition has not been received by NVC yet, but two other Vj members who were approved on Oct. 22 have their petitions received.

Good luck to all.

So far in the April/May/June filers wating for NVCthread, we have Liz Leija (sept NAO2), supernova (Oct 15 noa2), SilverFuel (Oct. 23 NOA2) already forwarded on to their embassies. Jordanluvr (Oct 22 NOA2), chabo (Oct 19 NOA2) and I (Oct. 22 NOA2) have our petitions at NVC, and have gotten our NVC/embassy case numbers, but they have not been forwarded. SilverFuel was NOA2ed a day after Jordanluvr and I, but managed to get to NVC 1 day before us (and SilverFuel was NOA2ed the same day as edp333 who is not at NVC yet).

Lets hope for more good news. Good luck everyone!

Thanks edp, this process has been experience I really want to put behind me. I'm trying to adjust myself until we get our approvals. So, unfair and the wait is just extreme!!!

I can understand the frustation you and gogo are experiencing. USCIS is taking way too long to evaluate your RFEs. Reqeust evidence, receive evidence, and approve petition seems so simple; yet they keep your in suspense.

Best wishes.

I found some astonishing stats on the Department of States website. Out of 224,000 family based visas in 2006 only 32,661 were for spouses and 31,591 for spouses conditional. Refer to:

http://travel.state.gov/pdf/FY06AnnualReportTableII.pdf

Now the interesting part is 5,836,718 non immigrant visas were issued in 2006. Spousal visas are less than 1% of the total visas issued each year:
