So are most of the April I 129 filers getting approved now? The August 15 update of processing times said they were working on the Feb 13 ones. Does that mean that California Service Center is finally moving along?

Some of the April filers are getting approved. The Feb 13th date is supposedly the oldest petition CSC is working on. CSC is moving along and slowly getting closer to us.

Is there any way to find out the status of either I-130 or I-129F? My I-130 was last touched on 06/03/2007 and I-129F was last touched on 07/14/2007. I am usually not very impatient but it is now beginning to worry me. What will be the next step? Will I get something through postal mail or will they provide an update through case status site?

Also, I remember there used to be I-129F (Spouse) processing times posted for California Service Center but I don't see it there any more. Is there any way to check processing times for spousal I-129F applications (K-3)?

Thanks!

I don't think there's much you can do. There's only one 1-129F processing time and it says 6 Months in CSC. It says K1 and 2 but apparently it really doesn't make much of a difference. TSC doesn't have one but it should probably be around the same. Which means you and I should have our Visas sometime in December. Or January. Or the year after that.

Who knows

The next step should be getting a notice on Case Status Online (CRIS), an email notification if you signed up for it, and a NOA2 in the mail. It should be in that order, but we are talking USCIS here, so standing operating procedures vary frequently.

Not that the procesing times mean anything, but there is no real way to know that I am aware of. I think the company motto is, "We will approve no petition before its time." :P

Our I-130 and I-129F applications were approved 4 Sep 2007. I received the e-mails late last night.

To note, I did send letters to every office of my Representative and two Senators, about 13 letters in total. My Representative's response indicated they didn't do much more than I could have from their feedback; however, one of the Senator's very well could have made a difference, after some specific prayers for approval.

Good luck in your continued journey. At first I was in minor shock and disbelief, along with a lot of joy. Now I'm focused already on what is next.

God bless,

Robin

Hello

I have filed form I-130 in late August of '07 and still awaiting.

I have heard that next step is (once you receive NOA) to file for I-129f.

How long does it usually take to get approved for either one? Does my husband who lives in Croatia have to wait until I-129 f gets approved in the states to apply for a visa or ? I am very confused. Any answers, help will be appreciated

Thank you

axp, put a little more info in your timeline such as the dates you sent the I!30 and I129f: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/intro.php

If you do this, VJ timeline will give you an estimated adjudication date based on the average of other members who filed these petitions. You will see that few April VJ filers have their approvals. Your VJ I130 adjudication estimate will be sometime later this month, I129F should be late October or early November. You are not alone among people filing around that time and still waiting.

Well, its the beginning of a new week. What will CSC have coming this week? Today its 151 days for the I-130 and hopefully some April Filers will get approved. I am really starting to get more and more frustrated with this. Sorry, for whining but, this process really needs to come to an end.

Thank you

Hello SAVZ,

It depends upon which visa your are petitioning for as to your next step. If you are petitioning for a CR1/IR1visa then waiting for the adjudication of your 1-130 is your next step. If you plan to petition for the K3 visa then sending in the I-129F is your next step once you get a receipt number for your I-130. Reading through the guides link can help you determine which visa route is best for you. The IR1/CR1 is a better visa and costs less than a K3, but takes longer to approve. Your spouse will be a US Citizen upon arrival. The K3 is somewhat quicker, but you have a $1010 Adjustment Of Status (AOS) fee within the first two years of entering the US. And the AOS is as much fun as petitioning for a visa.

The ajudication has been averaging 130 to 150 days. Then the visa process must go through the NVC and then to your Embassy. There is not much information on timelines for Croatia. Reading through the processing times and Immigration times will give you a better idea of timelines. And remember each visa has its own timeline. Since you filed after the July 30th fee increaseyour spouse's visa journey may take a little longer due to a backlog of petitions to beat the fee increases.

The I-130 and I-129F is a petition for getting a visa, so yes the visa must be approved before moving to the USA. There is a possibility of getting a visitor visa to temporarely visit the US, but the requirements are pretty strict for anyone with a petition. Any overstay or suspicion of fraud can cause a 10 year ban on the visa.
