Interesting news.

My wife Meryll was required to attend a seminar to get her passport for the visa process. The seminar explained the US visa process and what is expected of the filipinas/filipinos. Much to my suprise, Meryll said when they were talking about the wait for a US visa it was mentioned it takes ten years for the Philippine visa process!!

SinceI plan to retire in the Philippines I will have to start the visa process early.

Filed: K-3 Visa Country: Peru
Timeline
This is an invitation to anyone who filed a K3 in or close to April to post on this thread. It seems that many of us who have filed in April are having delays with checks being cleared and receiving a NOA1. I think it would be helpful to keep each other updated with concerns or activity on our visa applications.

I plan to call USCIS within the next two days because it will be 30 days since my packaged arrived without my check clearing or receiving a NOA1.

You can add me on the list.

You look so youthful in your avatar I had no idea you were planning to retire soon. :D

I found this on a Specal Resident Retiree Visa, but it has no timeline:

http://www.gov.ph/faqs/retirement.asp

You must buy property. I saw new houses just outside the Manila Metro Area for as low as $40,000+ including interests on loan.

Please let me know if you find more info on retiring in the Phils!

Speaking of adding to the, Medieval just posted an I130 approval. Another for the list of fast I130s still awaiting I129F. NOA1 for I130 was 6/25, so that one was superfast.

I agree. I explaind to Meryll before we got married it would be six months if we were lucky, but normally the visa takes nine months. She still kept thinking she could come in August. I still think it will be late December before visas are granted in Manila according to our current timelines.

.

Anyway, some people get approved without touches and I am sure something will happen in August. Try to concentrate on the joy when she arrives. We are all in this process together.

Parachute4U, after some further research, it takes 10 years to become a Philippine Citizen. I think you can safely wait 6 years before planning your retirement.

I would like to retire somewhere around the Laguna/Tagatay area. :content:

Unfotunately, Neenuh seems to be lost in USCIS delays.

oh wow, you can say that again

so feelicks finally received the money order copy

as if it helped any

first, the money order copy looks terrible

like when it was copied, it wasn't laid flat, it was set too dark and like the lid was left open

second, there was a bunch of markings on the back, apart from what's already there - like extra stuff that are difficult, if not impossible, to read

like teeny tiny digits, dot matrix characters, a "bank of america" stamp

so feelicks is trying to make sense of all this #######

finally he calls USCIS for some assistance (as if...)

voila! we are in the friggin system, omfg

as it turns out, our paper was filed may 16, 2007 (case pending in california service center)

i have no idea what happened with our papers, really

i just know USCIS sucks huge donkey balls

and i'm still upset with murphy, asdf

i'm mailing feelicks a recent photo and a new set of G-325As this friday

the lady also told feelicks that he will not be receiving any NOA1

blah blah

we hope to mail our K3 packet next week

for all those who prayed and hoped with me, thank you

oh boy

"ask, believe, and wait to receive"
