Work visa suitable for me?

There is an alphabet of work visa's, not a common subject on this board.

I am alway loath to be too specific because by the very nature of a forum we do not get all the details and there may well be significant facts admitted.

The big advantage a Lawyer has is fact finding and when it comes to it most of their business is usually work rather than family orientated.

Having a jo offer can be pretty meaningless, having a job offer and a employer willing to sponsor is something else. Not a cheap process.

The Employer/Lawyer are the ones who decide which is the one they want to apply for.

Thanks everyone for the replies we decided to wait untill he is 21 and in the meantime I'll go back to college in the UK and get some job experience as well, tonight we will ask his parents if we can apply for the visa when he is 20 (August 2019) and explain to them that the waiting time is a year so I wouldn't be moving to him untill he's 21, they should understand that, if not then we will just wait till he's 21, if anyone remembers my previous thread an update to that is obviously we told them the truth and they said they support us and would gladly let me live there, but because he is 19 and I'm his first girlfriend they want us to wait to get married untill he's 21 and they seem to think it would be easy to just get me there in a work visa next year but of course it's not that simple so we will explain to them and hopefully they will let us get married when he's 20 but if not then 21 is ok we are just glad they are supportive of us

I believe another option is to get a student visa to attend a university here. You could go to a university near your boyfriend's house.

OP doesn't have a job, so I assume she would not be able to afford 20,000$ - 50,000$ for school.

And some people recommended au pair - but I believe for this program you need to provide proofs that you worked with children before, references, etc. They don't just take people from the streets...

edit: I've checked. One of the requirement is " Child care experience of at least 200 hours in the past 2 years "

As you have already received tons of good info about the visa, I do not have anything to add.  You guys are young - very young & Marriage is such a big decision. You should and you must focus on your career. Try attending some college and get some degree & find some job to get the skills. Doing menial jobs, life is hard.

When I was young, I worked menial jobs to keep me alive. Those jobs are not fun at all.  But I worked on my education. With 10 years of working experience in the technical field & degree, I came to America. Even with a degree and many certifications to complement my degree, I had a hard time finding a job because of not having an American Experience. It took me around 6 months to find a job that I love.  Focus on studies and making a career, so that you are not dependent on anyone. With you both having a good career, life will be much more easier (irrespective of where you guys decide to live)

Good Luck

My boyfriend's dad is like the manager of U-Haul and he said he could get me a job there and have me sponsored, and I've been researching but there's alot of different ones and I read there's only a limited amount of work visas that are given out per year

not likely

anyone is qualified for a job like this

and he would be paying out  for an expensive immigration lawyer that does work visas  ($10,000 was the cost my neighbor's work paid out for his work visa and he has specialized training)

If I remember correctly, you were given a LOT of accurate and practical advice in your previous threads about yours and your boyfriend's situation. Based on this thread, it appears you guys are till trying to grasp at straws to make things happen ASAP, rather than being a little patient and waiting.

As others have already stated, work visas are not something you can just get, and THEN find a job. And based on information you shared in your previous threads, it doesn't sound like you would have a US based company lined up to possibly sponsor you under a work visa.

As many have advised before - it would make a lot more sense to gain more work experience and money saved in the UK, allow your boyfriend to become a bit more independent (he's 19 and living at home, if I recall).  While yes, the K1 process is not speedy and a lot of time is spent waiting anyway, you are still required to prove financial sponsorship upfront when applying, so you guys will still be expected to shoulder that burden just to apply for the K1. And it sounded before as though you guys would possibly need a co-sponsor if you went ahead and applied now, which doesn't sound like his parents would be willing to do.

You are both so young - no reason to rush this, other than you guys just don't want to be apart, which we can all understand. But you don't want to shoot yourselves in the foot, either.

Håll ut, y'all.

Because his parents suggested a work visa we thought it was a good idea, and it turns out not to be a good idea

Also can a mod close the thread please thanks
