Hello,

My boyfriend and I are planning to move from Canada to the US in the near future. We found an assistance program that claims to be able to apply for you to various companies known to sponsor workers from abroad. Thus for filing H1-B for us. Has anyone here heard of such services and are they legit? I'd rather check here before giving them any sensitive information. The website is https://www.h1base.com/

If not, can anyone offer some pointers as to how to go about looking for eligible jobs ourselves? He has been working in graphic design/media integration for about 5 years, while I've been in the Group Insurance/Work benefits field for about 10 years.

Thanks in advance!

You should avoid things such as this website.

You realize that for an H-1B a degree and position requiring that specialized degree is needed.  What are your specific credentials?

Your best leads are likely through networking with US professionals in your fields in the area in which you would like to live and professional organizations especially if they have employment assistance.  There are many other reputable job sites. Your university placement office may have opportunities in the US.  Look also at companies with operations both in Canada and the US which might odder L-1 visas.

Just because you want to move to the US does not mean it is possible.  Realize too that work visas are time limited and most do not lead to permanent residency. You need to be realistic about the possible options.  Realize to if you were to marry and only one of you were to obtain a position, the other could not work on H4.
