Chinese Visa Renewal Issues

Just having H-1B approval means nothing when it comes to getting the visa stamped.  With the recent crackdown on illegitimate H-1B jobs, there are more denials of approvals, renewals and visas than in the recent past. They are simply checking on her credentials, employer and position.  This is a good thing for workers in the US - both American and guest workers.

All she can do is wait for stamping or give up her H-1B job and remain in her home country. No one is guaranteed a US visa or job.

It’s been 4 weeks exactly and she still has not received a status update. Other co-workers told her it took them 4 weeks or so. There has been holidays there as well.

Thx. I’m also waiting for my visa clearance. Interview date 09/17 and now it’s been 4weeks plus. Fringes crosses and hope to hear updates in the coming week.
