I had a school yard fight at 18 and plead guilty to common assault in 1990 i applied for and received a pardon for this in 2008. I understand Canadian pardons don't apply in the U.S. due the pardon this event doesn't show up on my police check and i'm trying to be proactive and have every base covered long before my interview has anyone dealt with this issue before? if so how did you solve the problem im quite sure the consulate already knows everything before you even get to the interview.

wow, 28 years ago huh?   I would like to think that anyone reviewing your case is going to dismiss a schoolyard fight as a non-issue, if that is all you have going.  I had a similar situation..........alcohol violation when I was 18, and I was told it would be dismissed if I had no more problems.   I've never had another incident in 40 years, but I found out although it's no longer on my police record....for which I requested a copy.....it shows up on the governments records and they initially rejected me for a trusted traveler card.   I'm the petitioner, so less of an issue than you, but still a tad disconcerting.   unfortunately, I'm at the NOA1 stage like you.  Hopefully someone with a similar situation with NOA2 or passed interview can provide some additional information.  (they did end up giving me a trusted traveler card after I appealed)

There is an explanation in the reciprocity tables on the NVC website on what do about pardons.  I believe you need a police record and court records regarding the incident if possible.

I agree with this. Since the police check will now include all RCMP Holdings, pardoned offenses will be listed. Bring whatever documents you were given pertaining to the pardon.
