I have a question. Do i have to send an employment letter or just the tax transcript and the pay stubs. I m confused about sending it or not. Thank u.

You can submit the employment letter as extra evidence. I did it, but it's not a required document. I just feel like any extra evidence and thoroughness is better in this process. Good luck! :)

I'm a little bit confused... I received "Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation" email yesterday telling me to " log on to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://ceac.state.gov/IV to pay fees, upload and submit documents, read messages from NVC, and check your case status.

Is this what the guide here means by "the NVC will send your relative a packet of forms that you and your relative must fill out before your relative can be given an interview date with a consulate abroad"? Or will I PHYSICALLY receive a packet of forms? If I do receive a packet of forms, how do I complete this part: "An I-864 form is also included that must be filled out by the petitioner (living in the US)", since my SO is in the United States? Do we send the forms to the NVC or the Consulate abroad? Or do I, the applicant, send it to the Consulate and the petitioner sends to the NVC?

Also, for the Police Certificate, I used to study in the US from 2011-2013 and worked from 2013 to 2016. Do I need a police certificate for the US? Or do I just need it for all other countries?

From what I'm understanding is that your case is PIVOT.

Where are you residing? If it's a PIVOT country then you will have to log onto CEAC and first pay the AOS and IV fees.

Next the petitioner will fill out the AOS and upload financial documents along with it.. Then the DS 260 form needs to be filled out  along with uploading the beneficiary's civil documents. Everything will be sent to the NVC for review.

Once accepted NVC will send to the U.S.Consulate abroad for interview and visa issuance.

And  no former residents don't need a police certificate from the United States (only other foreign countries)

Hope this helps!

I just looked up what pivot means, but can't find qla list of countries. How do I find that out? I'm from Malaysia and they did sent me an email telling be to log in and there are links to pay, if that helps.

If Malaysia is a pivot country, does that mean i will not receive any physical documents in the "NVC packet"?

Also, I'm not being asked to choose an agent in the email, only to pay the fees. Is it no longer a requirement?

You are probably pivot as they do not  have to choose an agent

Oh sorry to hear. My docs still say submitted, no changes whatsoever yet... Hopefully next week I'll get luck. Did they send you an email after submitting docs? Or only notified you on ceac?

No, they will send you the email to check your inbox at CEAC after your doc will be accepted and instead of submitted you will see accpeted and green tickmark.

Well I think Malaysia is a PIVOT country. But to make sure check which of the following statements is true for you..

Method 1 is uploading to their webpage but thats only if you get a letter from them saying "You may begin online processing"

Method 2 Email processing only if your case number begins with AKD, AMM, BGH, DMS, GZO.

Method 3 if it starts with GUZ

If none of the above match with your case prefix then you have to send it by mail.

If it is a PIVOT country then no you won't be receiving any physical docs in the mail. And you don't have to choose an agent in that case either. (Straight to paying AOS and IV fees)

Good luck

Hey

From the trend that I have been noticing, honestly there doesn't seem to be much of a difference.

We are a non pivot case as well.

Post NVC confirmed receipt of our package (September 6th), we got our cc on September 14th.

So if you have completed ds260 and there is no checklist issued by NVC once they review your case, the cc seems to be pretty quick.

However it might differ from case to case but as of similar cases in recent past, this is what I have noticed

All the very best. :)

Thank you! I’m really hoping we don’t get a checklist. I made sure we triple check the document haha!

All the best to you too!
