i130 still pending (F1 category)

Hi all,

My mom (US Citizen) filed i130 for me in May 2013. My case is at Vermont Service Center and it is still pending. Any idea when can I expect to hear something? it has been more than five years. I am aware that even if my i130 was approved i would have a wait for visa to be available. But it is nice to have peace of mind of getting first step out of the way.

I am inside US, so if I am eligible to apply for i485 based on date of filing chart...If date of filing date gets current and i130 is still pending, can I still apply i485 or I must wait till i130 is approved?

Thank you.
