I am getting ready to file our K1, and I’m pretty clear about doing the I29-f on my own, I just have a few questions. 1. Can I do this on my own without using rapidvisa?? I really don’t have extra money to throw around. 2. Do I send an affidavit of support as well or does he bring an original affidavit of support that i mail to him to his interview? 3. Does he need to bring the original I29f to his interview? If so, will the UCIS return my original I29-f back to me and then i send it to him? I was really set on using rapidvisa but when i found visa journey i thought maybe i could do it myself if i just have the answers to these small questions! Our case is simple, one divorce, (me), no children and no criminal records. We will use my mom as a co-sponsor. Thank you!

1. Yes.

2. Bring affidavit to the interview.

3. No. USCIS will not send you anything back. Make copies of everything you send.

Make sure you research the next step after arrival on K1 visa. AOS is pretty expensive and it will require new forms.

K1

29.11.2013 - NoA1

06.02.2014 - NoA2

01.04.2014 - Interview.

03.2015 - AoS started.

09.2015 - Green Card received.

RoC

24.07.2017 - NoA1.

01.08.2018 - RoC approved.

Hello there Savanna and so to answer your questions I would just start out by making sure you follow the instruction I will send you. Yeah no need for Rapidvisa as I hear they aren't exactly the best when giving good information all the way through. You affidavit of support won't be need until after your I-129f petition is approved.  As the the co-sponsor, just make sure you can do a co-sponsor from Honduras as in the Philippines they won't allow. Anyway hope that will help you get started in your process my friend so if you have any other questions let me know!! Here's your consulate website so read up as much as you can. God bless you in your journey to getting your fiancee here.https://hn.usembassy.gov/

About your answer to number 3, I’m just confused since everything I’ve read says my fiancé needs to have the original I29-f with him at the interview. Is that not correct?

Hi, Savanna! We are using RapidVisa, and I can say that Ryanmaria is correct in that their information is not always reliable. Their online form is not exactly the same as the actual I-129, and it's a good idea to download the pdf from USCIS website, so you can see for yourself what each question is actually asking for.   For example, in the "Other Names Used" part, it asks you to "Provide all other names you have ever used, including aliases, maiden name, and nicknames". RapidVisa specifically tells you to only to include names for which you've had a legal change. This is wrong, and I had to insist with the agent that I was going to include my nickname, since it's the name I use on my tax forms and it's on my Social Security card. She kept arguing that it wasn't necessary, directly contradicting what the I-129 says.  I made my own decision on this.  I did obtain an affadavit of same person to explain the two names, just to cover any questions which I'm sure will come up. Their form also doesn't allow for an overlap in employment dates, which forced me to leave one job out completely, until I nagged them to add it manually. They did it, but I had to assert pretty strongly to get them to.  Having said all this, we're not regretting it. When we started, there was so much to learn and we were overwhelmed. They have helped me feel organized, and I can easily see what processes will follow.  At first, we spoke to a lawyer, who wanted an enormous amount of money.  RapidVisa will check, double, and triple check your I-129 before sending it to USCIS for less than half the amount she wanted. They will organize it in a folder with tabs and pay the postage. Sounds great, and we could do this ourselves, but it does help us feel confident. That's worth it to us.  So, to finally answer your question: No, you don't need RapidVisa, but it can help in some ways. I feel lucky to have found VisaJourney, where I've also been learning a great deal, and can enjoy the feeling of community with others going through the same process. My own application will be on its way in just a couple of days! Best of luck to you!!!

I would say if you’re good at following instructions and reading and doing things without rushing, you’ll be fine.  Read each step and look up other’s stories.

If you’re not comfortable with it, well, some people don’t like to read the Instructions because they get tedious at times.  Ironically the biggest fatal errors are: putting the wrong name 😕 and sending original documents (birth and marriage certificates) instead of copies.  Never mail original civil documents.

No, he needs a full copy of the original submission,  copy twice so you have a copy ( in case they lose anything including your cheque)  and he has a copy to take to interview.
