Kyiv Embassy interview on K-1 visa. HELP

Hello,

Was gonna see if anybody had a similar situation to mine. I've started working on interview docs early after receiving NOA2. By the time my case status changed to "Ready" on CEAC on Sep 7th, I had everything including interview fees and medical done. So I scheduled my interview right ahead for Sep 11th.

Now, I've talked to a friend and she said I was supposed to wait for an email with the heads up to schedule my interview. She didn't wait and they almost sent her home from her interview saying she was lucky they accidentally opened her envelope the day before, otherwise, they would have canceled the interview. And she shouldn't have scheduled without an official notice. I wasn't aware it was a strict requirement, as well as CEAC website didn't mention that in the little info box below my status.

So my question is, did anyone have the interview before getting a notice and should I be rescheduling it just to be safe?

I have my flights booked for 19th so I'm worried if I go later than 11th, I won't have my passport back on time.

P.S. please don't say I shouldn't have booked the flights, there's more to that story and I know it was very risky :)

Thanks!

I would contact them to confirm it is okay that you schedule the interview.

Thanks! yup gonna do it tomorrow. The funny part is, the firend I mentioned above scheduled hers over the phone, and even then they haven't told her it was too early.

as hoping for some piece in mind before they start working tomorrow so I can call them 😅

Please come back and let us know what they said as we are waiting for the case to be sent from NVC to the embassy and my fiance wants to schedule her interview as soon as the case says it is ready at the consulate. THank you.

If she wants to make it quick, be sure to have everything ready sometime soon, once she has NVC do medical ASAP, she doesn't need interview appt confirmation for this. Pay visa fees. The receipt is valid for 1 year. Then, once status id READY there will be no delay :)

Thank you. Yes she has her medical scheduled for Tuesday and is paying the visa fee tomorrow.  I 134 and ds160 are all finished.

Hi everyone!

i called the embassy this morning and they said it’s too late to reschedule the interview at this point. I should come and hope the case is opened. If it’s not, it’s fine and I’ll be able to reschedule for later.

But I went on CEAC and saw that my case was touched today and a few hours later I received the email that I can have my interview now.

So I’m all set for the interview tomorrow. Took them one business day to process. Ready at 6pm on Friday, email 3pm on Monday:)
