Kiev - Letter needed for Medical Exam?

Hello,

My fiancée is going through the Kiev embassy.

We have received our case number and our file is currently at NVC.

She scheduled her medical exam for later this week.  I was just reading what’s needed for the medical exam and it says:

  • Your visa interview letter with Case Number and visa type

My question is: We don’t have this letter yet (haven’t scheduled her visa interview yet) but we have the case number. If we have the case number,  is she still able to attend the medical exam without this letter?

Thanks!

you need to bear in mind that her visa will be expired in 6 months from the date of her medicals, so there is no reason to do the medicals too much in advance. Why don't you schedule the interview yet? Have you read here? https://ua.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/how-to-apply/

In their medical  instruction, it doesn't say you need to present the interview confirmation, just a case number together with other documents https://ua.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/151/Med-Exam-ENG-06-11-2018.pdf

Thanks for your reply.

We will schedule her interview for early October and then POE in mid-November, so there isn’t a risk of her medical exam expiring, but thanks for the information.

Here is the list of items for the med exam from the Kyiv Embassy on travel.state.gov website:

Items to bring to your medical examination

The doctor will need the following items to complete the medical exam forms:

  • Your visa interview letter with Case Number and visa type (bold = mine)
  • Your international passport
  • Four (4) recently taken passport-sized (50 x 50 mm) color photographs
  • Vaccination chart with the seal of the issuing clinic (mandatory for immigrants, optional for K visa applicants)
  • E-mail address
  • Military service card
  • Full present address of residence
  • Intended address in the United States

well, if you follow the link i posted there is an instruction from the Ukrainian clinics, they have slightly different requirements. It only lists a case number without the letter.

Thank you so much. It’s just that there are SO MANY conflicting lists and requirements across all these different sites.  We just don’t want to forget something simple and set us back needlessly.  That’s why I asked people who have already gone through this part of the process (and hopefully help those that come after us that have the same questions).

All the best!

I have a very similar situation to you. We have our case number from NVC waiting to be sent to the consulate and my fiance called last week and spoke to the  people at the medical facility and they said you just need your NVC case number and you are good to go. She is going on Tuesday.

Case number will be sufficient. We passed our medical before NVC scheduled us an interview date and no one in the medical unit seemed to care.
