My boyfriend lives in Korea for 20 years and I am in the Philippines. We don't want to be separated for a long time until the k1 visa gets approved. Is it possible for him to apply for my k1 visa outside US?

Yes.

Thats' if:

- He is US citizen.

- He filed US taxes (since it was mandatory for him, no matter where he lives) and will provide at least 3 years of recent tax returns

- He makes over 125% over poverty line so he can sponsor you. / or find a co-sponsor.

- He will establish domicile in the US or proof the USCIS that he intents to establish it. Please search forum for domicile advice.

Sounds like you are separated.

Yes but why the K1?

Hello. K1 visa for now because we think that's the fastest way to obtain visa to live in US together.

We also considered marrying in the Philippines but we figured it will take two years and longer to process that than k1 visa.

What are you thoughts?

K1? Faster to visa, but twice as long to green card.  you get to move faster but the AOS process makes it harder for you ... the CR1 takes 12-16 months and you can marry anywhere in the world.
