Okay. Some say wait until documents if asked. What if the interviewer never asked, and you have every document with you to proof? Some said you should give out documents simultaneously when answering...will it not show desperation? Am just confused. Pls which is safe and best approach?

Its possible the person will never ask. You are mostly judges based on your application, your answers, body language..

I'll disagree with what has been said here.  Went through this with my step daughter.  She was not asked for any documentation (at embassy in Russia) and was denied.  I emailed the embassy and they told me it was very important to present any important documents without being asked.  The next attempt was successful as she presented documents without being asked.

I would think a wedding invitation would be a very legit document to show.

So what was the crucial document she showed.

I would present the documents if asked. But always bring them no matter what. I travel to the States rather regularly and I've never been asked to provide any documentation, but I guess it varies from country to country

I think Nigeria is a high fraud Embassy, so I would take the documents.

Be honest- it appears you are going there to be a best man in your friends wedding. Bring the supporting documents for the wedding as well as the ties to your home country (you stated you had a job) hopefully you answered all the questions on the app truthful and you will get an officer that issues you the visa.

What documents are there that anyone can show that can't be provided by anyone who has a printer?

Documents mean very little, far too easy to forge.

And wedding invites mean even less. The embassy doesn't care why you want to go to the U.S., they only care about why you'll leave.

August 2000: We start e-mailing. I'm in Bosnia, she's in Florida

October 29th 2000: She sends me e-mail asking if I would marry her

October 29th 2000(5 seconds later): I say yes

November 2000: She sends me tickets to Orlando for when I get back

December 6th 2000: Return from Bos

December 11th 2000: Fly to Orlando, she meets me at airport

December 22nd 2000: I fly back to UK

January 3rd 2001: She flies to UK (Good times)

Mid February 2001: Pregnancy test Positive

Mid February 2001: She flies back to US

March 2001: Miscarriage, I fly to US on first flight I can get

May 2001: I leave US before my 90 days are up

June 2001: I fly back to US, stopped at airport for questioning as I had only just left

September 2001: Pregnancy test Positive again

September 2001: She falls sick, I make decision to stay to look after her as I am afraid I may have problems getting back in.

April 16th 2002: Our son is born, we start getting stuff together for his passport

March 6th 2003: We leave US for UK as family

Early April 2003: Family troubles make her return to US, I ask Embassy in London about possibilities of returning to US

April 16th 2003: London Embassy informs me that I will be banned from the Visa Waiver Program for 10 years, my little boys first birthday

June 13th 2006: I-129f sent

August 11th 2006: NOA1 Recieved

Can I reapply for an interview schedule simultaneously after a rejection? Does the US consulate not consider one's work as strong tie...? Am a correctional officer, by such virtue am serving my country, my organization is fully aware and given their consent for my trip to the Us, I love my job...and definitely will come back immediately after the occasion. But the young Co I might was just bent on if I have kids even when am single. The law states professional, family, work and social links as strong tie...which actually means either can serve in such capacity. More so, the said occasion is taking place in November, can I reapply using same visa fee?

You are free to reapply anytime, but you will have to pay a new visa fee.  There is no way to use the same visa fee for a new application.

Applying right after a fresh denial will result in a second denial.

Everything is up to the CO's discretion at that point.  There's no law that states once you show one or more of the above, you must be approved for a visa.

I'm curious how the interview itself went---can you post what questions were asked of you, and what answers you gave in response?

He asked me purpose for my trip: told him a friends wedding. He then asked me if am married, said No. He further mentioned organization's name, which I acknowledged. Asked what I do there: told him I take inmates to courts as at and when due, and some administrative duties. Then he asked me if I have kids, I said No. He issued me a copy of rejection letter.

Supposedly CO didn't think you had enough ties to Nigeria.  It's not the easiest embassy to go through, even in the better circumstances.

Other than your employment----what other ties do you have there?  Home ownership?  Financial?

Do you have any relatives living in the US?

Children in the home country aren't necessarily a tie as one can leave their child (and it happens more often than you might think)...in any case, you said you don't have any children.

Immediate relatives legally residing in the US (ie. siblings, spouse) can sometimes be viewed as a stronger tie to the USA than the home country, with more potential for overstay.

Not sure what you are asking here?
