Democrats alerted the FBI on Thursday to decades-old sexual-misconduct allegations against President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, according to reports and a person familiar with the matter.

The potentially damning claims, which come as the Senate prepares to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination to the highest court in the land, were made in a letter obtained by Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein, a Democratic source told the Daily News.

Two officials briefed on the letter’s contents told the New York Times the allegations relate to possible sexual misconduct between Kavanaugh and an unidentified woman when they were both in high school.

The specific nature of the allegations was not immediately known. Kavanaugh, 53, graduated from Georgetown Preparatory, an all-boys Jesuit high school in North Bethesda, Md.

I saw this earlier and I said to myself "You have got to be freaking kidding me", this is a stretch to say the least.

But many details are still unclear, including the crucial question of what Kavanaugh is accused of in the constituent’s letter — if he’s accused of anything at all.

What we know

So far, there are more questions than answers about what the letter is about. The letter itself is a secondhand account of an incident that hasn’t been described to reporters. Feinstein isn’t saying much: The Intercept reports that the letter had been causing a stir on Capitol Hill because she had refused to disclose it even to fellow Senate Democrats.

The letter was from someone affiliated with Stanford University who had the incident involving Kavanaugh described to them, according to the Intercept. The letter was first sent to Rep. Anna Eshoo, who represents a major swath of the Bay Area including the area where Stanford is located. Eshoo shared it with Feinstein.

 

 

What's the point if the person is not prepared to come forward and press the matter further and the letter is a secondhand account, surely this is hearsay and doesn't amount to much.

Facts don’t matter at all.  Throw enough mud his way, and some is bound to stick, and cause problems.  Despicable behavior, IMO.

I think they should appoint a special council to investigate your second hand account of Diane Fienstein wrong doings. If you need any extra second hand letters let me know and I can write some up.
