Case left NVC ..now what do we do?

Hi ,

OUr case left NVC may 8. We are wondering about our next step. Should I (petitioner) contact the embassy to see if it was received, or do we just wait for packet 3? We appreciate any advice on the matter.

You can do either. It won't hurt nor help your case if you contact the consulate. Your husband should receive his packet 3 approx. 2 weeks after the consulate receives it.

I'm not sure how to track whether or not it'####### the embassy since ours went there pretty quickly. What I would do is gather all of your paperwork together. We really didn't have time to do this beforehand which sucks since now the waiting is on us..which I absolutely hate, you know?

Make sure he has his military papers, his passport, his police record and his birth certificate and although it's not required, definitely get them translated since that will come in handy when he gets here.

For you, complete the I134 which entails getting a letter from your employer along with one from your bank. Also gather together last year's tax returns and some recent paystubs.

I can't stress enough getting his part done though. Finally my husband will be able to pick up his military paperwork this Thursday insha Allah and then will be able to get his passport. You can't get the medical done without the passport so we've been on hold until this is complete.

I would have thought that the pkt 3 would mention needing a movement certificate as well since that's what a lot of people are needing lately but maybe that comes after the interview....if anyone knows about this please chime in.

The movement certificate is not requested until after security checks/AP are complete. This is the final step for determining whether or not the visa can be issued. However, there is one member (Cairobound) whose husband did get a request for the movement certificate and the CO requested additional info afterwards. The passport office will have your husband's paperwork waiting for him for the movement certificate when the time comes. He will most likely receive a packet 3 type paper requesting the certificate.

I am lost about this Movement Cert??? Wt heck is this?

The movement certificate is a document obtained from the passport office documenting whether or not you have left Egypt and if so, where you went and how long you stayed...that kind of stuff. It's not really important what it says, it's more important that it is acceptable to the CO. They no longer trust what the passport itself says. At any rate, it's a new requirement. My husband as well as several others on VJ have had to obtain it.

That is precisely the reason for the movement certificate Many Egyptians think they work around the system. Uhhhh not so easy anymore!

what is this packet 3 every thing you have listed here the embassy all ready has, My husbands secrity check was just completed and sent to cario this month. There is yet more packets???? And they all ready have his passport and the I-134 and what is this movement certificate? Please any answers will help thanks

If your husband has already had his interview and what not then he already got his packet 3. He should receive a request for the movement cert. shortly. It takes approx. 15 days to obtain but is usually finished earlier. My husband returned his movement cert. and a week and half later received his visa. Good luck to you.
