Ahhh, how i wish Teddy were still around to defend the position that voter fraud is not real.

I think we should get rid of electronic voting and go to paper only with a requirement to show ID in order to vote. And have all ballots counted and tallied in public view. This should make both the people who believe there is voter fraud and the people who think the Russians are hacking our elections happy.

Not sure that would work either, my mother was a ballot technician in 1960 Kennedy vs Nixon she was convinced hundreds of ballots in the town we lived in were destroyed because they were for Nixon and the voting commissioner demanded the town committed for Kennedy, even though we grew up in Massachusetts when Kennedy was beloved.

No system is perfect but with my idea of counting the ballots in view of the public coupled with everyone having a smartphone with a camera connected to the internet the fraud you describe would be much more difficult to get away with today. Much better than leaving it to a machine with no transparency and anyone who shows up to vote being allowed to without identifying themselves.

Any system can be manipulated.  Fake votes submitted via paper.  Paper votes destroyed based on candidate.  Electronic machines that can be overcome with simple software.

And I can’t find it now, but before the 2016 election, there was a video making the rounds where a hacker proved machines could be made to lie when he portrayed a popular voting machine electing one candidate when the majority of voters voted for the other candidate.
