I have a difficult situation right now, and I'm posting to see if anyone has any advice or input.

My medical is on Tuesday, so it's too late to reschedule, but I don't have my patient summary or doctor's letter about my previous self harm. I'm going to my GP on Monday, but I doubt I'll be able to get a letter the same day, and I'm worried that the patient summary could take a day or two.

The email I got from the medical place says that they can put my medical on hold until I submit the summary and the letter, but how does that work? Can I scan them and email them? Or do I have to post them?

I'm so stressed about this, I thought I'd lucked out by getting an appointment so soon, but now I'm terrified 😥

I haven't scheduled it yet because I've been worried about delays with the medical 🙁

If you're really concerned, I'd ring up and see when the medical can be rearranged for? Last time I checked, the next available embassy interviews were in the 2nd week of October - so it would be worth getting an interview slot ASAP

EDIT: also, you can reschedule the embassy interview if needed

I can't reschedule at this point without paying the £95 fee, plus I've already booked my travel 🙁

I'm fully aware of how stupid I am for making this mistake 🙁

It's fine! Don't stress about it - grab the patient summary while you're at the doctor. It only takes them a couple of minutes to print out.

Take that with you to Knightsbridge. It's very likely that they will need further evidence regarding your previous self-harm. If you can, while you're at your GP, see if you can get a letter for that very same day and explain how you really need it. Your GP may or may not be able to do it, but it's worth a try.

If you can't get the letter in time from the GP, still goto the medical. They're honestly really friendly and helpful! You can always mention that you're in the process of already requesting a letter from your GP. They'll go ahead and complete the other parts of the medical (xray, blood test, etc) and will ask you to (i think) email them or ask your GP to fax it to them when you get the additional letter.

They'll hold your medical until they get that information. However, if you haven't got an interview slot for the embassy yet then you're in no hurry as the available interview slots are in October.

Key thing to remember though is not to get stressed out. Knightsbridge see 100s of visa applicants and deal with a range of issues. 99.9% of reviews on this site mention how helpful and friendly they are, so don't worry too much!

Thank you so much!

I'll definitely do this, I mainly wanted to know if I'd need to send stuff to them in the post, I'm glad that this probably isn't the case! I'll get my interview booked asap 😊

As far as I'm aware from reading other reviews, they shouldn't need it by post. But, even if they do for whatever reason, you definitely do have enough time! Get your interview slot booked before they get to November!

They accept a fax or email from your GP.

Anytime Knightsbridge feel like they need more in depth information from your doctor on any previous condition, they write up exactly what they want from him. They wait however long it takes to hear back before they finalize the medical report and send to the embassy. No need to delay your appointment as suggested. You won't be the first or last that got an "RFE" from Knightsbridge. Some for things as simple as their blood pressure was high at the exam. Who knew or prepared a letter for that?   Remain calm so they observe you are mentally stable now. All that small talk they do is interaction to observe your demeanor. Don't let 'em see you sweat.

you can email additional information yourself once getting it from your gp. I'm glad I told my go not to send anything on my behalf as everything they tried to give me the first time was completely wrong. if you prefer to have them send it, make sure you take the time to review everything before approving.
