Good morning everybody !

So we sent in the application for my husband’s 10 year green card back in October and received a letter saying they would extend his current 2 year visa for a year while we wait for a response. My question is that if we are asked to go to an interview what can we do in the instance that I am not in the country at the time? I am currently in Colombia with my family temporarily for an extended period of time however I am not sure when I will be going back. Is there anything we can do like send a letter and he still go to the interview or something ? I would appreciate any feedback!

(Just to make things a bit clearer I am the citizen / wife)

Thank you you all in advance.

Chances are there will be no interview.  There may well be a request for more evidence, so make sure somebody is getting your mail, who can get it to you.  If there IS ultimately an interview, you'll have a few weeks notice to attend it.  Make sure you do.  To re-enter the US, you will need your passport, expired green card AND the ORIGINAL (not a scan or photocopy) letter extending your status.

There may or may not be an interview but all the cases I know (from my extended family members and friends' ), there was no interview. Recently, my brother's wife and his wife's brother got their 10 years green card without an interview.

If there is an interview you MUST attend if you want your husband to recieve his 10 year green card.
