Hello Guys Please help. Yesterday our case was Ready in Ceac Site. Per reading here on VJ that means that's our cue that interview can be done asap. So next day, my fiance went to USEM Manila to do the interview, he was told that he needs the EMAIL saying he can go thru the interview. Meaning they're waiting for the physical case that was sent by NVC. I thought they end it electronically ? Please clarify,

You need to schedule an interview online and pay fees. You can’t just show up at the embassy without an appointment.

Thanks for your advice but we do know that. Who would go to the Embassy without an appointment.

Then why did you go to the embassy the next day?

I believe that they are wanting a document with your MNL# on it.  The email you receive from NVC stating that they received an approved I-129F petition has the MNL# on it.  I believe others are taking a screenshot of the ceac status screen which also shows MNL#.   Follow the guidelines on this page. http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html   Scheduling of interview is after making DS160 application,  paying fees. Medical exam at St. Lukes is done at least one week prior to interview.

I thought it is usually a cue to schedule an appointment only after the NVC sends you an interview letter?!

Hello! Thanks for the comment :)
Yes that's what the embassy says. Wait for the letter.. But of course me being excited to be with him, did not wait and did it as soon as the CEAC site says 'READY'.

Hi ! Because CEAC site says 'READY'. I'm pretty sure you're a regular here so you know that peeps telling stories you're all good once the site says Ready.

Hello!! No they do not want a document with the MNL# on it. They needed the PHYSICAL CASE from NVC. Nobody (or in our case) can go through the interview unless the Embassy has your physical case from NVC.

You can begin the process in the Philippines once you have the MNL# case number from NVC. When you schedule the interview schedule it about 30 days out and take a screen shot of the interview confirmation as this is acceptable at SLEC. We have seen some who were turned away by security but if you can "push" your way to the receiving desk just inside there they will accept your document as proof you have a interview scheduled. This is a procedure that is tried and true for over 5 years. Some will say you can't do it as it didn't work for them. I say they are doing the steps improperly. MHO.

Every Embassy is different in how they handle the scheduling of the interview. For the Philippines the process can run very smoothly all the way up to the interview with the couple completing everything on their schedule. It's one of the easiest Embassy's to get a visa from.

@Greenbaum My fiancé had a scheduled interview was actually on the receiving desk you're referring to and they won't let him to the interview unless the PHYSICAL CASE is with them. Also, what is MHO?? lol

That is a caution I have put out there many times. What does CEAC say? I advocate at least 30 days after case number assigned but CEAC set to ready. Are you talking about medical or Embassy interview when she was turned away. And what did they tell her?

My humble opinion = MHO

There is a discussion just starting about some new change from USEM which centers around the quagmire your in. They're talking about it over in the Philippines sub forum. Let's see what are the new changes. All is not lost just a minor set back.
