"Certificate Of Naturalization Was Issued" date should match oath date?

This may seem like a silly question, but.... I had my swear-in oath exactly 2 weeks ago, but my status on (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) was still at "We mailed your oath letter" for almost 2 weeks. It's not until today that my status changed to: "On September 6, 2018, we issued your Certificate of Naturalization for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, ". But the date given (Sept. 6th,  e.g. today's date) doesn't seem right. My certificate was clearly issued on the day of my oath ceremony.

For those of you who recently naturalized, is there also a difference between the date they gave on the page, and your oath ceremony date? Thank you.

Yes mine says it was issued 5 days after I actually received it. I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s just an online status. You’re done with USCIS, stop worrying.

Thank you very much!

Lol, I thought it was USCIS trying to screw me up one last time for old times sake. Because we obviously had to fill out the voter form, and passport application on the day of the oath. On those forms we had to clearly mark we were U.S. Citizens, which was true given that we'd taken the oath and had received our certificates with the naturalization date clearly on them. But if through some clerical error USCIS somehow marked me down as someone who naturalized 2 weeks later that'd obviously be an issue. I'm glad someone's confirmed.

I think for status updates, it just automatically puts in whatever date they actually do the update on the computer and is not an actual reflection of anything. Some people don’t even get that status, it’s just a matter of if they feel like getting around to it or not. The only date that matters is the one on the actual certificate. I registered to vote online and applied for passport at my local post office the same day of my oath and both went through without any issues whatsoever.

  I totally understand you. We become so paranoid all these years with this and that, that at least to me now that I'm a USC it feels like I broke up with a past friend who I'm gonna "miss" somehow. :P

Lol, I couldn't have said it better. The headaches they induced made me stronger.

This is my question as well.

I took the oath a couple of weeks ago and haven’t seen a change in status. Still says “inline for oath ceremony, see notice mailed to you..” curious to see how many have this as their “final” update.

It seems to depend on your USCIS office. Some offices never seem to update beyond that point. But obviously since the certificate has been issued, and the date is clearly listed, it has to be recorded in their systems.

Just use the date listed on your certificate for all future administration purpose :) I never actually looked the date until I filed my K-129 several years ago. I applied for US Passport at Post Office so the agency just asked me to sign :P
