My husband is also from Quetta.  I did get married there with his family and friends but any other time we are together its in Islamabad or Dubai.  I stayed at the Serena in Quetta and only went to a few places people came all over to see me..lol but I never felt I was in danger.  My husband's uncle is an officer so I was collected off the plane by guards and kept very safe.

We have stayed in Lahore or Islamabad the 3 times I've gone over. We have made plans for me to go to Quetta but as it got close to my trip last September, Trump had made remarks that caused issues and made traveling an increased threat to US citizens. You are lucky his uncle is an officer and could assist you, my husband doesn't have that to help us. I've been told by him that when I do get there in Quetta it will be a sight for everyone lol.

Don’t embassies always offer the option of interviewing in the local language? Does Islamabad not offer this?

That is my understanding.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

UPDATE: I have figured out that it was not because of facebook, It was because lack of facetime. I have known him for 6 years but only been married one year. I have visited him one time for a short time and got married then. It was a fault on my part to apply for the visa so early and without more visits. The fact we met on facebook was not the real reason it was denied. thats just all he could understand from the reply the interviewer gave him. His English is broken but i can still clearly understand what he is saying and comparing it to when i met him, it has significantly improved.

So shall we assume that his claim that "everyone who met on Facebook was denied" is also a misunderstanding due to the language barrier?

Then it’s baffling as to why the husband apparently had his interview in English. Or did I misunderstand that?

There is a misconception that having an interview in English is better.  Some believe the english speaking CO's are nicer and that if you prove you can speak english well its one less red flag.  Although I've seen many success Urdu interviews.  My husband choose english but he is very comfortable with it and I was with him at the interview.

i have figured out that the main reason for it being denied was because they wanted more then just one visit as proof. He said the reason was facebook because according to the interviewers, our relationship is "strictly" online. They wanted more proof that we were compatible as a couple. You have lived with your husband and have a rent bill (supposedly) together but other posters are saying they could want years worth of proof together. I think you will be fine. I married last July so we have known eachother 6 years but only married one year. I got married at the end of my first visit there.

The plan next i think for us is for me to plan another trip there for longer this time and get some more proof of a relationship beyond online. I just wish i have known this earlier.

They don't care if you are "compatible as a couple."   They need to ascertain whether your marriage is for the purpose of immigration.....which is why much more in-person time spent together counts for a lot.  As would living together in Pakistan for a period of time, if you can't live together in the US.

Facebook is not the reason. Do not like to yourself. The reason is him. Not telling the truth and Pakistan -- these two are the reasons, at least.

Dag so rude...

Anywho ....the fact you only met one time in the 6 years blew it.....more trips next time or move there for a while

Maybe i just dont understand and I dont mean to insult but im confused. I am also married for 6 years and we met trough facebook. When we got married we did whatever we could to stay together even that meant moving to a different country together. We lived poor vut we was together. If you both have decent jobs then there should not be a reaskn for you to spend more time together. Such as holidays or anniversaries. I understood that he was not allowed to visit the US but why didnt you visit him? I could never spend more then a couple weeks without him. I think the embassy might think the same way. Your married but are never together. And being together is a big part of the 'bona fide' relationship. Also the country he is from is probably difficult to immigrate from. So in a way I understand the decision for denial but I am sure there are ways for you to try again. Good luck and again I mean no unsult just giving my understanding of what the consulate people think of your case

Should I say something if you guys don't mind ....    Forget usa think about your country ,  in this case Pakistan is the best place to live ...   Couple always look beautiful to gather ,  one should be compromise ,  as her husband can not come then she should come to Pakistan and live with her husband at least two three years and think about babies etc ...  Time is running fast ,  then after long passage of time you guys again apply then you will have strong evidence ,  kids and all !!!!    People live in Pakistan. ...    But birth should be helpful to each other ,  if you can help your husband then get some money with you so that you guys can survive easily and tell your husband that do some work to get more money ....

Live happily
