just curious, did you actually have a relationship for the whole 6 years?  Because in my situation my fiance and i met on facebook 4 years ago (through a common friend) but we were friends for 3 years before actually meeting and start a relationship. so technically my relationship with him is considered 1 year.  if you guys were friends majority of that 6 years, maybe you should've mentioned that so that might explain why you haven't seen each other much. just a thought.

I will be following this as my husband, who is from Pakistan, and I met over 3 years ago through Facebook. But since then I've been to Pakistan 3 times to be with him. 1st trip was 11 days, 2nd trip 30 days and was when we married (ended up renting an apartment for the month and have the rent agreement for it), 3rd trip 17 days. So 3 trips in 18 months. And I'm curious to see what was asked in his interview and find out the reasons given for denial.

If you dont mind me asking, when did you marry? I'm confused with the timeline of 6 years together and married but only going to meet him once.

I'm sorry that you are struggling through this, and dont have clear answers from his interview. Hopefully you get the full details soon.

I agree with everybody else, multiple red flags none of which have to do with Facebook.

Maybe there is an issue communicating the reason due to language issues.

At least you have the freedom to move.

As the title says, my husband and I have applied for a visa last year and yesterday he went to his final.interview and they flat out denied the visa Do my on the reason that we met on facebook 6 years ago. My father was a avodite of support and makes 66k per year. I went last year to Pakistan to visit him so we could use that as proof. We gave them ample proof as to our marriage, relationship beyond facebook and that we were completely able to take care of ourselves but regardless of all the proof, it was flat out denied just because we initially on facebook. Is that even a legal reason? What steps should I take next?

My husband has informed me that they have denied every single visa of couples who met on facebook. Is there any justace I cam get for this? It's such a bad excuse.

Please someone help. I have known him for 6 years. We really wanna be together but we are at a loss at this point.

I met my husband on Facebook,  I came to The States with a K1 Visa, I was approved on Adjustament of status and recently on remove of conditions without an interview for both. I already applied for naturalization a couple weeks ago. Meeting on Facebook is not a reason to be denied.

This is a really good point. I met my husband initially through work (different locations - talked on IM/phone calls) and we became friends on FB. We knew each other for about 5 years when we filed the K1, but only about 1.5-2 of those years were us in an actual romantic relationship. We made that very clear in our evidence and did not try to say that we had been together for 5 years, even though we had known each other that long, because then it would make the # of meetings seem less. Although I went to visit him 3 times in less than a year - so 1 time in 6 years is nothing compared to most.

paul and i are on the phone pretty much every minute when were not at work. not hard if you have a bluetooth and carry about with whatever you would be doing anyways.

our running joke is when he moves down, we're going to get condolence cards from our phone companies on the break up LOLOLOLOLOL

OMG!!! I commend you for that. My husband (then fiance) would've driven me crazy if he wanted to talk on the phone for that long. We would of course spend 1-2 hours on the phone many nights, but any more than that and I would go crazy. I can't multi-task very well. haha.

Completely off-topic, but 5-10 HOURS..EACH DAY!? How on earth did either of you manage to have a life...or sleep? :D

Its easy he's basically on call as much as we can.  I prop the phone up, clean, cook dinner, garden or whatever I'm doing.  He does the same.  Since we can't live together at the moment its the next best thing.  We are also on call during parties or get together with all family included.  It has definitely made this journey more doable.

I have not read through the entire thread, but I find this very difficult to believe that this is the ONLY reason

for example, my husband is pakistani, we met on facebook, I am american no connection to pakistan at all other than my husband, and we passed the interview without issue

Do not be concerned, I also met my SO on facebook

was not an issue at all for us

what for me is slightly strange is you stayed in an apartment for the month? why not his family? I would think that would be a bigger issue for the embassy

Now I have read through the entire thread, you were denied because of lack of relationship evidence

not having great english could definitely be a contributing factor assuming you do not speak urdu

also have you met his family, how long was your ONE visit, did you have a traditional wedding?

One visit to me is the biggest issue, you need more facetime with your husband, at the time of my husband's interview we had more than 2 months of facetime (over 3 trips) and I attended the interview with him
