Is London now on a Go Slow?

For a while we were all speeding along, NOA2s and P3s and P4s all around; I though the Embassy staff must be scoffing amphetimines at the pace we were going. And then...

We sent our P3 in nearly three weeks ago and I still have nothing, nada, zilch, a big fat goose egg. Zip. And it got me wondering (which is a very bad thing for a person going through this process to do, because we can dream up no end of disasters which might be visited upon us): is it me, or is it the Embassy? And if it's not me, what is WRONG with London now? Does anyone know if, like some other embassies, they release interview dates in batches, like every fortnight or something? Or do they release interviews more quickly to K visas than us CR-1/IR-1 folk? Or..or...or... :o

I actually had a nightmare last night that I was sitting in the hallway at home, just in front of the letter slot, waiting for the post. The postman opened the slot to speak to me, and I asked him if my P4 had arrived. He said, "Oh, London said to tell you that it'll be about 6 months until you get it. And don't call the DOS or the Extortion Line, because if you do you will never, EVER get the visa."

Will someone please tell me to stop worrying and learn to love the Embassy? :innocent:

Well...if it makes you feel any better, a lot of the US and ME/NA filers are waiting a hell of a lot longer than UK filers.

isn't that the truth!!

But I know how you guys feel. Waiting sucks!

Oh you have made me feel so much better! I had a nightmare last week that I had filled the detailsin my I-130 wrong, my hyphenated name was backwards my postcode wrong etc etc etc! I waited for 6 hours in a complete flap thinking I had actually read the copy documents then rang my husband in near tears saying don't send. He looked at them and obvioulsy nothing wrong! I then realised it had all been a bad dream!!! Very embarrassed!!!!!!

But at least I'm not alone in the nightmare thing - I am still worried about believing it all though!!

Emma

Married 16th April 2007 - Seattle :)

Oh, you all are so awesome!!! Thanks for the support. Sometimes when you are so close to getting what you want it just seems even harder to wait.

I'm calling the DOS again today, mostly out of curiosity. I'm anxious to know the date because I am supposed attend a conference in my hometown...right when an interview might happen (conference is 18-20 June). Not just that, I might end up getting a job out of this as several of the board members of an institute at a university which shall remain nameless (sorry, don't want to jinx it! ;) ) have expressed interest in me and are urging me to attend. So I am going bonkers waiting...

As an aside, I have had several other dreams where I am typing away at VJ...oh dear. I think I need a holiday!

Man, I feel your pain. I'm a compulsive worrier too and I hated how vague & inconsistent the embassy is. I didn't WANT to get all worried, but they have so many rules and such little information to give, that it was hard for me sometimes not to worry about whether I'd done everything correctly, and if the time that was passing was due to a heavy workload on them, or because I'd messed something up.

I didn't mess anything up and I'm sure you haven't. The embassy is processing all your stuff in good time, it's just they don't have the courtesy to keep you informed about it!! Grrr!

Don't worry! *hugs* Time is passing right as we speak and your day will come soon!!

I'll be watching for updates!
