I am asking the people here what are their experiences or thoughts about my wife visiting the USA with me for one week?

i am married to a Vietnamese national, we just got the certificate a few days ago. I plan on beginning the cr-1 process by submitting an i130 soon. I just got a job offer to teach in VN until May, and my wife may also be able to work with me. I want to return home for a week for thanksgiving. The school provides board so we will not own property, but my contract will be until May and we will have a joint bank account.

Do you think the recent employment, that is contracted until May and a short itinerary(1week vacation) would be a compelling evidence we would return? Or does all that only apply to me and does not affect my wife? I would love for my wife to visit at that time but i do not want to jeopardize the cr-1 we will be applying for any help is appreciated thank you.

Your wife will need a tourist visa.  She will have to qualify on her own merits (strong ties to her country).  The Consulate Officer must assume she has the intent to immigrate to the US, and being married to a US citizen will add to that assumption.  I think the evidence you mention applies to only you.  There is no reason for you, the US citizen to show evidence you will return.

Whether your wife approved or denied for a tourist visa will no impact on a CR-1 case........good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Applying for a B1 for your wife should not jeopardize the CR1 application unless she misrepresents herself at the B1 interview or on the application.  All she can do is apply for the B1 on her own merits as @missileman stated.

Her chance of getting a tourist visa is probably small. Wait for her CR-1 to be approved. She (obviously) possesses few ties to Vietnam if she is willing to pack up and move to America upon receipt of the CR-1. She's living in provided housing and has a contract job that is scheduled to terminate. Although a tourist visa denial will likely have no bearing on the pending CR-1, nobody on here knows if it will or not. Maybe it will appear that she is trying to circumvent the system, or that she fears a CR-1 denial is going to happen. You've already applied for a visa - I wouldn't push it by applying for another. CR-1 approval rate is very high for Vietnam. Just wait.
