Travel document????

i've filled in the I-131 already and just looking over the guidelines again before sending it.

my reasoning for going back to the UK, is that my only brother is graduating in November.

is this reason good enough to get my Advance Parole?

plus i think i want to return to the UK after as well.

not sure what the advance parole document looks like, but is there a separate one for one trip and more than one trip?

should i tick one trip as the graduation is the main reason i'm going or should i just go ahead and tick more than one trip?

thanks

The reason you are requesting AP is not all that important. Some people just want to be able to return to their homeland to visit family and friends from time to time, before their GC is approved.

You can put a specific date down, but if you don't travel on that date, or you travel before or after that date, it doesn't matter.

You will get 2 copies of the AP document, and you will take them into Immigration upon your first return back to the U.S. after travelling abroad. The Immigration officers will stamp them and your passport, and then you are free to travel as much as you want, as long as the AP is still valid. AP is valid for one year, but usually before it expires, you will have your GC and then you dont' require AP any more.

Greetings

I suggest applying for multiple entry, especially if you think you'll want to make two trips. It costs the same, and anecdotally, it appears that the processing times are the same for either. To be honest, I'm not sure why they even offer one trip vs. multiple trips option.

The document is an 8 x 11 page with some information and your picture on it. It looks not unlike the other CIS notices, with watermarks and all that.

K-1

March 7, 2005: I-129F NOA1

September 20, 2005: K-1 Interview in London. Visa received shortly thereafter.

AOS

December 30, 2005: I-485 received by USCIS

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

Received 10-year green card February 28, 2008
