How Long Does It Take To Receive A Police Certificate From ACRO

Hi Guys,

I just got off the phone with NVC as we received our case number today!! Now I'm moving on to the next steps. My Fiance was supposed to order his police certificate while I was in the US visiting my parents, but he ended up waiting until I got back because he didn't want to mess it up. 😂 But here I am now, trying to book the medical and we haven't requested his police certificate yet! I want to call Knightsbridge first thing tomorrow morning to book his medical but I'm not sure how far out I'd have to book it in anticipation for receiving his police certificate. It's pretty straightforward, I suppose, he's never been arrested or ticketed but I'm sure that, that doesn't make it move any faster!

Anyway the question here is - how long does it typically take to receive the police certificate? If I were to book his medical for the end of next week, or beginning of the week of the 18th would it be here on time? (We're requesting the certificate tonight as soon as he gets home from work.)

Thanks so much!

The only person who needs a police cert Arco is the beneficiary. Petitioner has passed all there back ground checks at this time.

Can go online and order Arco now. Takes about 10 days to receive it. Beleive must be picked up in person at local authority.

It might have been that they were particularly busy when they were doing mine, it was the beginning of summer and it was a while ago. if he had messed it up you would be kicking his butt as well so I see his reasoning 😆

I paid 2 day service to get mine and paid £80. Didn’t care about the money so in reality that’s an option if you need it quicker! And to be honest, there’s not much way you can mess up an ACRO!! Just be sure that your fiancé checks over the certificate for name spelling as they spelt mines incorrect and I was straight on the phone. Good luck for the next steps. Knightsbridge are great.

Also, do double check with Knightsbridge but last time I done my medical which was over 2 weeks ago I had to wait 4 weeks for my medical. Interviews were available the weeks in August back when I booked but seems interviews have the same concept now (hard to get straight away). I’m ready to slayyy soon. Counting the days till Jake and I’s interview on 21st ❤️

That's an idea.. didn't want to have to pay any more than we had to but I as I understand it the regular shipping fee is already £45 so I guess what's £35 for some peace of mind??

I was just reading your post about your Knightsbridge experience! I found it really helpful because I've read some horror stories.. haha. Do you have any idea how long it will take for the medical to reach the embassy? (I know the dreaded question everyone asks but no one seems to have an answer to.. haha) I know that we're not supposed to have a desired timeline because anything can happen to slow it down but we REALLY want to be back to the US by mid-October so we're trying to process everything as quickly as possible. 😭

Well exactly. I’m picking my visa (hopefully) at airport Belfast to save cost. My medical took a week from being done to being in the embassy as I’m a good abiding citizen and she said I was in good shape LOL. It honestly depends how your medical/patient summary looks. I had no mental health issues or medical issues. I’ve been so lucky this whole process, no RFE’s, NOA2 in 184 days, Medical in the embassy in exactly 7 days...I’m hoping i can book my flight out on 10th Oct and that’s with us waiting the full 2 weeks to get my visa back. No the nurse didn’t want to see me as apparently my vaccinations were all up to date (little to my knowledge). Doctor was super awesome. Jake waited at reception as we were vacationing in London to kill 2 birds with one stone

Also, not going to deny I wasn’t crapping my pants waiting to get my medical done. It’s nerve wracking. Knightsbridge aren’t all that has been posted. I found them to be wonderful. They’ve a job to do and forms to sign. It’s protocol their end :)

That's great to hear. I'm a bit worried about his because he had a heart operation about 7 years ago so I'm not sure where to get that record from or if I'll need it. He's going to get his GP summary tomorrow.

We've had a similar timeline! No RFE's and 181 days when we got our NOA2, I was so surprised I kept telling myself it was going to be like 200 days! Just hoping it's smooth sailing from here. 🤞 I hope you get get out on the 10th! That would be lovely, good luck to you!

Oh that will be on his medical summary under significant history as it was a surgery. However, he can ask for notes if he would like to give more info (he wants to at Knightsbridge). It will be smooth sailing all the way from here. I can’t comment just yet about the embassy but I’ve read so many great stories. Now, my advice for Knightsbridge is take their first available appointment and then ring every day for a cancellation (esp if you’d like your fiancé to fly out mid October). It’ll be a push but can be done. If I had your current flying aspirations I’d pay the 2 day service for ACRO, pester Knightsbridge for quicker cancellations and get your interview the 2nd day your status on CEAC changes to ‘in transit’ and it’ll only let you book from 2nd day in transit (just so you know) :)
