About a year and a half ago, my fiance and I published a book together, and we've also co-written a song, which gets airplay sometimes. I wondered, if I mention this in our proof of relationship, will it raise a red flag and seem like he is coming here for financial reasons?  The only money we've made is less than two dollars in royalties on the song (the music industry sucks these days 😊) .  Any thoughts on this? I'm just a little nervous about including it, but I'm also nervous about not including it because, if they look at our social media or even just google us, there's a good chance something about it will come up and I don't want to seem fraudulent. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

You're overthinking this. Writing a song together (just as building a house together or climbing a mountain together) is not proof of a relationship. It is simply proof that two people collaborated on a project together. What USCIS wants to see is pictures of you doing stuff together, receipts that prove you spent time together (hotel receipts, flight tickets/boarding passes). I have been approved without an RFE with minimal proof of the relationship (maybe 10 pictures of us together, evidence of two visits, minimalistic explanation of how we met and when we met). They are not going to look at your social media and see that you wrote a song and then think "WAIT! That wasn't in the petition!". Don't stress yourself out, all they want to see is that it a true relationship and not fraud, so you can happily leave it out.

Thank you, ST_RO! My inclination was to leave it out, but I started "what-ifing". It's the fact that there has been income, however tiny and paid to each of us separately, that worried me. I will happily leave it out!
