Was my case approved under regular or premium processing

Hi guys,

I saw on my case tracker app that my I-129 petition was approved just now and the status is "Case Was Approved". I am so excited about this. Then I went to https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov to double check the status. But there it still shows "Case Was Received and A Notice Was Emailed", meaning that I recently asked for premium processing and they are still working on it on a 15-day base.

Out of curiosity, I searched for the indications of the case status and found that if the case was approved with premium processing the approval status should be "Case Was Approved and My Decision Was Emailed". After finding this, I feel a bit low for wasting the money to do premium processing in the last minute.

Was my case really approved as it went under regular processing? Then what the service premium processing will give after this approval? Will they still proceed as if it is in processing and later on send an email with 15 days?

Don’t worry about the Dhs website. It’s useless and always behind on information. It may change or it may not. It may take years to change. Just wait for your letter in the mail in the next week or so.

I hope the notice will be at hand ASAP because I need it for my interview at the consulate. Also I need some info from the notice letter to fill out the online ds-160 form.

I expedited the case 10 days ago after the petition was pending for almost 4 months and close to its adjudication. 😂

You got lucky then. Most people wait 7-9 months for approval. You don’t need any information from NOA2 to fill out ds-160 by the way.

No my petitioner paid $1225 for premium processing after the long wait. Now the status indicates it was not the premium but normal processing that made the case complete, otherwise it should say notice was emailed. Just feel a bit shame for the waste of money.

I need the duration of the H1B to answer the intended length of stay on DS-160 and this is written on the approval letter.

Then you got what you paid for because 4 months isn’t normal processing. Ask anyone on this forum. That’s is extremely expedited processing.
