Yes, I believe if you spent more than 6 months in a country, and had a mailing address there, this will count. I filled in my 1-year study in China in my address history as well as obtained police clearance certificate

it does as far as police reports are needed

it does not qualify for US residency in other regards like to establish US residency for interview

She was resident in the US, but not domiciled here....a confusing distinction for a lot of people.  Domicile is a fixed place where you plan to remain.  Residence is where you actually live.  Sometimes that's the same as your domicile, sometimes not.  When here as a student, her residence was the US, but in order to qualify for a student visa her domicile had to continue to be in her home country.

 

You need to include her US dorm address as a residence for her on the residence history.  It will not, of cousre, require a police certificate, since one is not needed for time spent in the US.

Thank you! I’ll put down her Us dormitory address.

What about her dormitories and apartments in her home country? Her perminant address was still with her parents and the dorms and apartments were just temporary. Didn’t even have her name on the lease. Do I still need to record those in the application? Seems unnecessary to me...
