Hey everyone. My husband filed my case under F2a my pd is June’17. I want to know that what fees did we pay in the beginning of this process? And how many other expenses are due? What else do we need to pay in future? And what other documents do I need to gather? What really happens after receiving noa2? I’m so confused please help me! I’ll really appreciate it! TYI

The fee paid originally was for the I-130. The fee at that time should have been the same as it is now ($535). If the petitioner paid any agents/services/attorneys, that's separate.

What will be due are the NVC fees ($445 currently) + the Immigrant Fee (after approval of the visa) for the physical green card ($220).  There is also the cost of a medical exam + vaccinations, which varies by country but expect roughly $300-$400 in most cases.

The beneficiary will need at least their birth certificate, police certificate(s), etc. The specifics depend on the embassy/consulate involved.

After NOA2 you will wait for your PD to become current. Expect ~2 years from initial I-130 filing. Then NVC processing (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process). Then an embassy interview.

They are paid when you go through NVC processing. So this would generally be when the PD is current.

AOS as in Affidavit of Support (I-864)? Yes

AOS as in Adjustment of Status (I-485)? No...immigrant visas don't need an I-485.

Oh alright. Is there any payments that are due and have to be paid when you get your noa2? Or you just don’t have to pay anything in between until your pd becomes current?

hi

he will pay the rest of the forms at the nvc stage, $120 for the i864 and $325 for the ds260.  when you get your interview date,  you have to pay for medical and vaccinations.

if you are approved and you get your visa, you will have to pay $220 for the physical green card that you will receive once you are here

When you receive the NOA2, you can pay and submit paperwork to NVC because your PD is before 01DEC17. But a visa still not available at this time because your PD is after 22AUG16. For future reference, here is the main page for the Visa Bulletin: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin.html

First you pay the $445 ($120 for the I-864 + $325 for the DS-260), then you can submit forms (DS-260, I-864, etc.): https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-3-submit-visa-application-form.html
