We disagree, I could care less that he protests, I do not care for how and when he chooses. He has a right to protest I have a right to choose to think he is out of line.

We have different backgrounds and experiences, what you consider a joke I find is confrontational, neither of us need to validate the other.

Confrontational is when someone steps up and begins yelling in my face, or threatening me or my family. Someone choosing kneel is not anyway confrontational.

If people don't like watching someone knee, then look away. They have the choice to either get angry or not. If people cannot stop themselves from getting angry at the sight of a person kneeling during the US anthem, then have serious unresolved issues.

People who truly believe in themselves, don't as a rule, allow themselves to be offended over something so trivial. As my late father would have said, there won't be a word about it, in a million years from now.

Then I guess I have unresolved issues. To me the anthem is a brief moment of solidarity, I love to watch the anthem played. His choice and the networks response (to not show the anthem) took something I hold dear.

You are correct, in a million years it will not matter, but now it does, to me

You call it “unresolved issues” to be so proud of your country that you expect people to pay the proper respect.  Some of us call it patriotism or just... respect.

To me, anyone who does not respect this country is free to leave it at any time.

Ooooh, is it time for Wildean bon mots? I've always loved this one:

MDL do not like you mentioning Hillary...
