They won’t let you book a medical if you don’t have an interview date

Actually they do. You just need to present the NVC letter that shows that the case has been forwarded to the local embassy. I did the same thing.

If you fill out your timeline, other posters will be able to give better answers to your questions.

As you can see by the conflicting answers above, the right answer to your question varies by consulate.

A that stage is different. However, every Embassy is different.

You want to be sure you have x date. Just like when you are at the NVC stage they remind you to not buy a flight ticket until after approval.

I also assume they’d want to check your interview letter the day of your medical exam.

I just wouldnt recommend it.

Yes that's true. I wouldn't recommend it either, although mine was able to get pushed through. The stress of uncertainty, and anxiously trying to make everything fall to ones timeframe is not worth  it. Better be sure of every step.

Definitely. We came a long way and we must be careful with anything left we have to do :)

What I have found out is that the embassy doesn't book your interview unless you are ready with all your documents including your medical examination report. Maybe its different for different embassies or consulates. The embassy should answer that if you contact them.

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE! GOD BLESS YOU!

I just called Doha Clinic to find out about the requirements to book an appointment for medical examination. They said the person must bring the Appointment Letter (not the interview letter) from the US Embassy, 4 passport size photos, your current passport, and vaccination records (if any). It takes 3-4 days for the results and the fees is 680 Qatari Riyals. :)

Once they slot interview date, they will give you at least one month time. You will get more than enough time to do your medical.

Your application won't go to embassy unless Nvc booked your interview date.  Nvc will give you interview date and let you know than you booked your medical. In few embassy they ask you to book interview but than Nvc will let you know about this. You can't randomly do that. Wait for interview date.
