This is it guys, I had my interview this morning and got approved. Finally this is over.

But hey, POE is Dec 06 and then the papertrail will start all over!! I am looking forward to seeing my fellow February filers in the AOS forums!!!

To all those that have not been approved yet - hang in there and stay strong. Your day will come.

Thank you for all the support and good vibes in this group. I know we all had dark days throughout the wait, but knowing there are people out there who go through exactly the same process has helped me stay sane.

Congratulations 🌼🌼🌼🌼❤❤❤❤ Enjoy your new journey.

To be honest with you, I am still debating. I am still considering Georgia, but it seems like the Moscow Embassy started opening their dates. Have you heard any news from them?

I would go to Georgia or Ukraine, but they make you pay the visa fee in the country (no online option) so it would have to be more than 2 weeks trip if I am to transfer my case there.

No good news. Sent an email Monday and they sent a response to my fiancee. They're blaming it on staff reductions due to Russian sanctions. As far as I'm aware, each country booted 60 diplomats and shut down one consulate. There was no stipulation saying the staff from the closed consulates couldn't be moved to work in another one. The Moscow embassy still employs over 1100 staff, one of the largest in the world. My fiancee has been checking every day for the past week and half for an appointment with no luck.

Dec 6 POE? That's quite far. Well, as long as you have your visa in hand😁

Ok so I just received my rfe. When I submitted all the paperwork I submitted photos, my airline tickets, every page of my passport showing the dates I entered.

They wrote “The statement you provided did not specifically state the month, date and year you traveled to met the beneficiary during the two year period. Also, your passport showing admission stamped ogre is insufficient to establish that you met the beneficiary in person.”

Im a bit confused. My passport stamps, airline tickets and photos weren’t proof?

Also while waiting I went to visit her for a month last month should I submit some photos and plane tickets from my recent trip?

Thank you

Did you submit a love story letter? Like telling how you two met? If you did make sure you put the date when you met in person, and how many days you were with her and the places you went to. Also, I suggest to send all the proof you sent to them again, photos with names at the back, date and the location, also the plane tickets and passport with stamps, and yes, it's a good idea to send proof of your recent trip, tell that to your letter also, it's better to overwhelm them with evidence.

Yes, I did submit all that but I guess it could be worse maybe they lost something or who knows. The plane tickets match my passport stamps and all the dates on the photos are in the time frame that I was there. I will send more photos I took screenshots of photos it shows the dates and I’ll write on the back who’s in the photos the date and location again.

Wow this is amazing! Congrats. Can’t believe you are done and we have only just been approved (haven’t even gotten our hardcopy it NOA2 yet). Was your interview in Frankfurt? I’m actually in Frankfurt right now for work. Just had lunch with my fiancé and showed him all the documents. He needs to start completing the online form (whatever that is) and gather his docs and get his medical done (he has an appointment in the morning to see if the doctor can find out what vaccines he has as he has no records). But we probably won’t even get our case number for weeks so no great rush. We honestly thought this was not even going to happen because it was taking so long that he did nothing. Now he has a lot to do lol. Anyway, any advice you have for him on the german side would be great. And great news about the job!

Thank you!

Yes, Frankfurt is the only Consulate that processes K1 visas in Germany.

I’m glad you get to spend some time with your fiancé, especially nice because you got your NOA2 so close before your departure.

Well, I wouldn’t say you’re in a great rush, but after NOA2, things started moving a lot faster than before. Have you checked with NVC to see if your application is already there and maybe a case number assigned? As soon as it leaves NVC and Frankfurt is handling the case, it gets really fast.

I don’t have much advice actually. Just to start working on completing the DS-160, like you said. It’s a hassle to fill that one out, tell him to make sure to save it as often as he can as it keeps crashing. In case he needs vaccinations still, get that done as quickly as possible, then the medical right away, get his police certificate, apply for an international birth certificate if he doesn’t have one and also maybe an international drivers license. Oh, and enough passport picture, you will need more when filing for AOS

Download the visa checklist from the consulate website and make sure to send him the documents that are listed, he will have to submit those when he sends pack P3.

What was not on the list is that he needs all addresses since age 16, he will receive a separate page where he needs to list them with P3.

Let me know if you need anything else, I’m happy to help! And keep your head up, you will be done with this soon!

Seems far now, but I have to work and get rid of everything until November 30, so it’s actually really short. Time is flying by all the sudden. 🙃

We only got to spend a few hours together as my trip got totally screwed up with my flight canceled on the way there (ugh) but a few hours was better than nothing! We wandered around Würzburg. Such a great little town!

I still haven’t gotten the NOA2 in the mail yet. Haven’t been home since we were approved on old site but USPS informed delivery shows me my mail and nothing from USCIS. Maybe it will come in the next few weeks? I will call the week of Oct 22nd to see if they have assigned a case number. Still way too early. I’m assuming you need the case number to complete the DS-160?

So he has some time to get his stuff done. He is going this coming week to get the titer test done and then will get the missing vaccines. Do you know where there is an actual list of required vaccines? I couldn’t find that on any of the information I’ve seen.

He has his irish birth certificate. Not sure what an international birth certificate is. He has no driver’s license so will be applying for one in PA once he has a social security number. I live in a city so it’s not needed but will be nice to have one. He says getting one in Germany is very expensive and time consuming and he’d prefer to work on it here when he’s sitting around doing nothing.

I did tell him about all the addresses since age 16. It’s not too many for him so he started making a list. So much to do and I fear he will never get it done lol. Plus I wonder if they will stop doing interviews as we get closer to the holidays. So right now we are not expecting that he will come here until 2019. Hopefully in January. He will work until december 1 or the 15th and has his apartment until end of January. He will likely go to Ireland for most of December until the interview so he can be with his dad as he is really ill. There’s so much to do! You must be freaking out now that it’s real!!

I’ve been to Würzburg once, and it is indeed really nice!

I’m sure the NOA2 will be there soon. My fiancé had informed delivery as well and never got notified, so maybe it’s already sitting in your mailbox when you get back. Store it well, you will need it for AOS

If you have been approved more than a week ago, start calling NVC. They had my case I think 10 days after approval. You don’t need the case number to start filling out the DS-160. But once it’s assigned and your case leaves NVC with the next batch, it will be in Frankfurt fast. As soon as your status turns to „ready“, you can submit the DS160.

You can find the necessary vaccinations here: http://www.internisten-im-westend.de/wp-content/uploads/Immigration-medicals-Important-Information-for-our-Applicants.pdf

if he has an Irish birth certificate that’s sufficient. My German one is in German only, but he will need an English one, so he’s good with what he has.

Yeah, to get a drivers license in Germany is insanely expensive and takes a few weeks. A lot smarter to get it in the US. You can teach him how to drive, LOL.

Also remember that he needs documents from you for the affidavit of support. Plus the affidavit itself and it needs to be an original with your signature on it. The consulate is only closed for Christmas, I think they will still have plenty of appointments available when it’s his turn. Yes, I am freaking out, time is moving so fast now, I hope I can get everything done before it’s time to leave.

Thanks. I sent him that link for the vaccines. So helpful! He goes to his regular doctor this week.

Yeah the packing and shipping and leaving yoir job is a LOT!! Are you sending stuff to the US?

Quick question—how do you know when your status turns “ready”?
