I thought this photo of a USCIS adjudicator's desk was interesting. I pictured maybe a handful of files at a time, it seems like quite a lot to juggle and oddly made me feel a bit better that my case wasn't just rotting in a corner alone and forgotten.

The truth will set you free. :D

Ok here's the situation, according to the guy who read me my RFE letter:

I sent my divorce decree, signed by a judge and certified by the court clerk and I was told that the RFE asks for proof that a divorce was filed. What in the actual hell? I spent the afternoon calling the state where I divorced, they were like we sent you everything we had, what else do they want?

An RFE is very important, and you must get it right the first time in your reply. Having said that IMHO you should just take a deep breath and wait to receive the "official" RFE in the mail. Doing something ahead of time maybe not what USCIS is looking for. USCIS does not require an original document so if you have a copy, use it unless of course it specifically asked for "the document to be blah blah blah" then comply with their instructions.

So I'm not staying here without doing nothing while waiting 😂😂 since my last post here I got a letter from the resort we stayed in May confirming our time there and I asked Uber a ride log showing his trips in Mexico.

I'm getting creative on evidence for the interview because of the horror stories I've read here... I'm not letting the CO to have the smallest doubt about our relationship ☝️lol (well, considering the case that they will ask for my evidence, but better to be safe).

Also it makes me feel like I have things under control and not that USCIS is controlling me hahaha I'm going crazy for sure...

Have you use this tool that gives you the consulate experience from other members. It's a good read and many times it can shed light on what they are actually looking for. I understand your approach but throwing mud on the wall isn't to productive but that is MHO.

Mexico seems to be an easy Embassy to have your interview at.

So... I checked the app again and we got an RFE!

I'm kind of happy, this means we are not being left behind and that they touch our case, I was preparing for it because I found out we missed a few things at the original submission, hopefully it will be something easy to fix and we'll be back to the waiting game soon.

Here are my thoughts on what can be the RFE for:

-Fiance had a name change at the age of two, we included the court order but maybe they want more explanation?

-We didn't include back copy of the BC (it's blank but still).

-We didn't include all pages of passport (we thought BC was enough for proof of citizenship.

-We didn't include terms&conditions from Tinder.

-Maybe they want more evidence of meeting in person? (we did include passport stamps, boarding passes, pictures, credit card statements, etc).

-Maybe we missed to fill something on the form?

We were doing research for a couple of moths before filling but it was until later when I found out about these requirements.

Do you guys know when we should get the letter in the mail?

About 2-3 weeks. BE SURE to follow the instructions just as they are. Don't be fancy and pile on needless paperwork. They want just the facts.

I’m going back to SA in two weeks too. The South African cases seem to be held up. We filed the same day and I got the same response as well

Very puzzling. But hey when that 45 days ends, we'll probably be with our fiancé's and hear the official response during the visit. Who knows? 👁👁

I see nothing on the site saying they even sent me the RFE.

whats the old site URL

I just go to USCIS.GOV and see nothing when I log in

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

that’s the old site. You just need your case number.

For me the new site has never ever been updated. Still says they received my case February 16th.

Just fyi I didn't send a copy of the back of by birth cert, nor did I send all pages of my passport.  All I included for proof of meeting was copies of passport stamps and a two sentence summary of when/where the visits occurred.

We got an RFE for missing a checkbox on the form, but they didn't ask about any of the above.

Oh, yes maybe I'm overthinking!

My fiance sent me a copy of the form after we submitted the file and I remember it wasn't signed but he SWEARS that he signed it but send me the wrong page because he had to correct it (He signed first as Preparer and not on Petitioner). I love him but I have my doubts about that lol.
