Well from what I understand the congressman will send a request on your behalf because UsCIS employees are payed through our taxes so if they aren’t doing their job or you feel like they should be doing something a certain way reaching out to congress can help speed up the process. Especially now elections are getting close. They do anything for votes lol

Sending something off to your congress ppl doesn't necessarily speed your process. And here is what effects your wait time.

Because many names are common to many people (e.g. “Maria Gonzalez” or “Jin Wang”), false

hits sometimes occur. Special care must be given to such cases so that the proper documents are

obtained for presentation to immigration authorities. In the instance of a criminal hit, court

dispositions, arrest records, and legal briefs can be submitted to immigration authorities for

clarification.

The Department of State’s Visa Office will field public inquiries in regards to long-pending checks

of over 90 days. However, due to security concerns, little information is usually forthcoming.

Contrary to popular belief, congressional offices are unable to help expedite visa issuance. The

Department of State considers security checks to be a matter of national security and is not willing

allow applicants to bypass the clearance process.

Day 199... We decided to give it a chance until tomorrow before make the call to USCIS.

Here is a tool that is available on VJ that many do not take advantage of the information or do they spend time comparing the data to their own situation. If I were looking at this information and it tells me what it is telling me compared to your wait time, I can only conclude that you are about the same timeline of everyone else near you with your timeline and from Mexico. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/filterlist.php

Until such time as they start to receive notification, I'd sit back and :pop:have a cold one. I wouldn't be calling because I am only setting myself up for disappointment. There are other tools but I'll leave that alone. I don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers as I have been accused of. If you want to learn other ways just say so, if you don't then I won't offer. Good luck. The process does work if you let it.

This is a very helpful tool!

We are not dying of anxiety as we have a few things to do in between approval and Interview, but it is difficult seing everyone getting their NOA2... We just called today but it's not in our plans to call everyother day lol

I'll check this information closely, about your offer it's ok for me not to have it, I don't want to go crazy comparing a lot of hypothetical data that only adds more anxiety to the situation 😂

Let's the process to work out by itself and pray for the best.

Well I have seen many cases here on visa journey where a couple days after Congress sends in their inquiry a case will have a decision. No one not me nor you or anyone 😭 know exactly how the uscis works but I’ve seen plenty times where Congress helps

This whole process would be so much easier if they just said, “You will heat from us on X date.” Even if that date was nine months after they got our application, I feel like it would be so much less anxiety because we would just wait until that date and then you would know. It’s the never knowing when you might know that is driving me crazy!

Hi,

Hope everyone's applications are going smoothly!

I just had a question about the process after entering on a k1 visa, i know that adjustment of status has to be filed, but my dad is getting married next spring in Europe (i know the adjustment of status takes a WHILE)- i read something about applying for advanced parole to leave the country? does anybody know anything about this or if it is possible to leave the country for a short period of time without negatively affecting the application?

You can apply for AP at the same time as AOS. However AP approval is taking a long time too, you can find the average processing time here on VJ.  edit: The beneficiary should definitely DO NOT leave the country without AP or AOS ***, you won't be let back in.

Hello,

I just received my RFE letter after 5 days of my text/email notification. It is requesting me to submit evidence that my divorce decree is recognized in New York since I got divorced in the Dominican Republic and neither my ex or myself resided in the Dominican Republic during the time the divorce was obtained. I really don't know what to provide USCIS with as I previously filed a k1 petition with same divorce decree and that petition was approved with no problem. Has any of you been in a similar situation as me? Do you have any suggestions? Thank you

If I recall correctly, a few months back someone’s had contacted there congressmen. While there congressmen was looking into it they were approved. Well..... Since congressman got involved it was called back. Which in turn put them back in a line. We all know what that means. More waiting time.

now, this won’t be everyone’s scenario. But, it’s something u must consider when using these tools. It could slow it down also.

Just some food food for thought.

noa1 date is actually they date on ur hard copy. Sadly if u reach the magical 220 day u must wait till 225 to contact Uscis. They use what the new site says. Even if ur paper says X date.

They added 5 days onto everyone’s accepted on NOA1

@BJ & ChristineDoes putting in a inquiry slow down the process? Im thinking of having my fiance do one. We are at 211 days

Like I said. It’s not a ever case basis. But, did see it happen once.

U can call uscis and ask about ur case.

If it were me, I’d wait till at least 225 to move on with any other type of useful tools.

If u feel in ur own heart that u have not been treated the way u like. By all means do what u feel is best for u and ur fiancé.

Good luck with what ever path u choose..💪👍

My fiance does not want to get the senator involved, but we were considering putting in an enquiry with uscis for out of processing time. At this point I'm like whatever! this situation is ridiculous and I'm not going to stress myself over it. I don't want to do anything that will make it worse.

Completely understand. It’s frustrating to say the least. U can inquire so that’s can get the 45 to 60 day generic response. Don’t foresee that being a issue.
