Hiring a lawyer is pointless- UNLESS you have something you should be careful about -i.e. previous issues with immigration, criminal records, etc
if not, anybody and everybody is able to file their AOS- all it requires is due diligence and some patience.

This forum is helpful
I'll personally be more than happy to answer questions/refer you to those that can help at all stages.
Plan ahead, take ur time and it all works out.

Also- my dad's advice to me when I started this process which might also apply to you: don't try to bite off more than u can chew.
Baby steps. It's good to know AOS is coming down the road but don't let it distract you from doing what is needed NOW.

You haven't gotten NOA2 yet
So I suggest you gather docs that your fiance needs for their interview for now and... TAKE A DEEP BREATH! We all survive this

Thank you! We are expecting NOA2 very soon (within the following 2 weeks) and then I'll start gathering things for interview, but still I wanted to go a little further in detail just to have an idea of whats next... Good thing I won't be working so I'll have time to take care of all of this once I'm there... It's a really exhausting process, I'm trying to be as organized as I can.

Sadly I just returned home from dropping my fiancé off at the airport. Sucks big time. Hopefully we will hear back shortly on our rfe. Then we can get back to waiting again.

good luck to everyone who has received a rfe and or is still waiting for any notification. This wait sucks but, we will all get thru it.

Aww 😢... yeah won’t be too long and will all get over this.

Yeah, nothing from our side yet. I really pray for all of us who are waiting to hear something tomorrow or before the end of this week, it’ll be such an amazing feeling.

I don't understand how an RFE can sit in the printer queue for 12 days and no one can tell me why!?! They said they can't tell me until 30 days have passed! I am losing my mind, please God let this end soon!

How did you know about the RFE? Was It by calling them? Because my fiancé called them and they said we were at background check but how we didn’t hear anything so far? We should have our NOA2 by now. I’m like: are they lying? 😫😭

Someone made a mistake and told me, apparently they aren't supposed to do that for this reason. It's been in queue since August 31st. I call every day, trying to find out what's happening.

Mine left Sunday. It was so great when he was here. I barely thought about this whole thing except when we got the RFE and sent it in and when we would talk about it together. TOGETHER. That’s the best part. And the part we never get. Now he’s gone again ugh. As you said, back to waiting :(

I know we are so lucky to see each other so much. I will be there for work in 3.5 weeks so will see him for a few days then. I’m really hoping the next time after that is when we comes here at the end of November!?? But an NOA2 would be nice first...

Got it! So they probably didn’t lie to my fiancé it really takes this long after background checks!

This is a torture 😫
