I copied and pasted the below answer to this question from another user here in VJ:

“In the new revised I-134 form dated 2018 - Question #38 now regards contributions.  You leave the yes/no boxes "unchecked" and your explanation is submitted in Part 7 on page 8 of the new form.

You will do this:

3.a. "Page 4"

3.b. "Part Number 3"

3.c. "Item Number 38"

3.d. "N/A (K1 Visa Process For Permanent Residence)"

I-129F Sent: 12/29/17

I-129F NOA 1: 1/4/18

I-129F NOA 2: 7/9/18

NVC Received: 7/18/18

Consulate Received: 8/9/18

Packet 3 Received: 8/13/18

Interview Date: 9/20/18

Some believe (including myself) that it is preferable to check the "intend" box on question 38, as leaving both boxes unchecked give the appearance that question 38 was overlooked.   Along with that, complete Part 7 Page 8 as the previous poster has instructed.

I have another question about the form on the income and asset info page 3. Number 5 says value of personal property. I have a few valuable things but do i need show proof. And same goes for number 4: balance of all savings and checking. Do i need to print out statements to show as proof??

If you have sufficient/significant income to meet the 125% poverty guidance, documenting individual assets in not likely to be necessary.   But if your income falls short of meeting the guidelines, you can make up for the shortage by showing a 5 times amount (some Embassies may accept 3 X) of the shortage in liquid assets.   Liquid assets are items that can be quickly converted into cash, such as gold, bank holdings (savings, checking, etc) or stocks, bonds, etc.    I would only consider listing "valuable things" only if you can prove their cash value and if they can be quickly liquidated for that cash value and if your income and bank/savings holdings fall short of the 125%.

For bank holdings, you will need a letter from the bank documenting the holdings.   See the instruction sheet for the I-134 for additional detail on what the letter needs to state.

Dependents would be anyone you are currently financially responsible for...   for example children and elderly parents.

You do not include your fiance(e) as a dependent on the I-134.   If you do not have any dependents, enter "None" for the Family Name (10.a, 14.a, etc)

Is 34,000 a year meeting the poverty line? I will be living with my mother with my fiance but she is not my dependent

Yes, you should be fine.   If the $34,000 is your annual salary supported by W2 evidence and IRS Tax Transcripts you are in good shape as it appears you have no dependents.   You need $20,275 to meet the 125% guideline.   If you fall short of $20,275 in wages, you can use bank deposits to make up the difference but need 5 times the amount you are short.

Example..   Your W2 wages are 19,275 ($1000 short of the guideline), then you need $5000  ($1000 x 5) in bank deposits to make up the difference.

Once you reach the stage of AOS (Adjustment of Status) which will occur after your Fiance(e) is in the US and you are married, you will need to again show that you meet the 125% guidance via form I-864..   For 2018 the amount is $20,575 for a household size of 2 (You and your (future) Spouse).   Your mother will not count as part of your household size as you are not financially responsible for her.

You can see the 125% Guidance table here:
