Hi all. Sorry for the delay in responding to the tag, I was off grid. Below is my timeline. Based on the spreadsheet on here I realllllly thought we were going to get the interview date while I was away and have an early Oct. interview. But we didn't, so I'm guessing we won't get the date til the end of the month. I believe that means the soonest we will get an interview is early Nov. But I'll update as soon as I know.

Also just catching up on this new police record privacy act thing- I think the best bet is to just get the new one just in case. The last thing I want to do is fly from Calgary to Montreal just to be told we're missing it, esp. as we are planning to move as soon as the visa is in my wife's passport. (Which, p.s., anyone know how long it takes post-interview to getting the visa? Couple days, couple weeks?)

I'm sure it's Murphy's Law that we won't need the new police check if we get it, but unless several other CCs from pre- 09/10 with interviews post 09/10 post that they didn't need it, it's worth it to me. And with how long it make take to get (looks like 2-3 weeks if they're busy) we probably need to get it pretty soon.

p.s. Our timeline actually would have been even faster if I was on the ball more....we got I-130 Approved a few months earlier than I expected (yay!) but didn't have any of the next round ready because of that. So it took me almost 2 months to finalize & turn in the next round. Otherwise, I think our process would have been less than a year for sure. But everything works out! :)

Does anyone know if these fingerprint checks under privacy act will have fingerprints on the certificate? I had mine done at Commissionaires in downtown Toronto today and the guy said RCMP has told them that certificate under privacy act will not have the fingerprints on them.

They will not have the fingerprints on the certificate.  Went to my RCMP today and that's what she told me.

Does it matter if we go to  commissionaries or the RCMP detachment for the fingerprints under the privacy act?

Either place will do them for you as long as you get it done under the privacy act.

Here's my timeline. I should be getting my interview letter any day now, based on other Montreal interviewees. I've been collecting stats and I've found people get their letters between 5 and 7 weeks, most of whom received it at 6 weeks plus a few days. I'm at 6 weeks, 1 day now.

hope your letter comes soon!😊 you're CC is one day before mine!

Me too. I'm beginning to lose hope that it will be soon, but I have to stay positive. You'll probably get yours the same day as me. That's what it looked like last month...a bunch of people got theirs all on August 10th.

I'm just glad I finally got a case closed and can say we're just waiting on an interview date... We finally got our case closed today after not getting the first clear answer across 5 people from the NVC why our case was appearing the way it was. Regardless, it's done and now we can hurry up and wait some more. :)

When I spoke with the NVC they initially told me that they only give it appointments in the “last few days of the month”, yet my most recent call I was told they can be given out throughout the month, so I’m confused as to when it will happen. At this point I just want to hear by the end of the month. My CC is August 6th.

And i I had my second round of fingerprints done today, the privacy act version. The RCMP told me they process them within 3 days if there is no criminal record, then mail them and have them in my hands within 10 days from printing. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the mail day to day!

I received my case complete email this morning yay.  On another thread, i read that 3 people have gotten an interview date today for the Montreal Consulate.  All 3 of those had their case complete in July and got their interview for this October.

Congrats!

Oof, that's quite the wait time. My CC was late August so I'm hoping on a long shot to get some news soon, but seems like the wait time is longer than normal right now. Finger's crossed!
