Thank you darth vader, I was going to find this thread to share my experiences and ask for help if needed. Unfortunately my timeline is up to date, I wish it was farther along but I can’t complain as it was my fault not including our Large marriage certificate, we just included the wallet size with the Petition  (I am the beneficiary and my husband is the US citizen).

Timeline:

Marriage date 1994-07-02  -  In Alberta

I-130 Sent : 2017-11-13

I-130 NOA1 : 2017-11-17

I-130 RFE : 2018-06-01 - Applied to Alberta for Marriage Certificate (live in BC)

I-130 RFE Sent : 2018-06-29  - Delay in returning Marriage Certificate to USCIS waited for marriage certificate by mail and in USA for 2 weeks.

New USCIS website showed received marriage certificate 2018-07-10

I-130 Approved NOA2  : 2018-08-13

I-130 Sent to NVC : 2018-08-20  - message on new USCIS website.

NVC Received : 2018-08-27 - Called NVC 7 days after sent to NVC per advice from @Abies VJ member on another thread ( she’s the best !)

Currently still waiting patiently for Case number for the next step in the process. In the meantime gathering all documents and gathering information so I am more prepared so the time will hopefully go quicker to CC. Also doing ALOT of reading of all different VJ threads which takes a lot of time but is worth it.

The only challenge is going to be providing documents to prove re-establishing domicile.

My husband has lived in Canada for years with the exception of 6 months as a teenager and in 2005 we lived in Florida for 2 1/2 months.

Going to Florida in less than 2 weeks and hope to buy a house to live in. Also hoping there is no hurricanes. 🌪️⛈️ Only hoping for ☀️🏝️

So that’s my story.

Trying to be patient and positive now though, as I know I'm on the last couple of months of my journey. My hope is I'll be reunited with my husband by Christmas! :)

Happy to read everyone else's stories and hope for everyone to have a quick, painless interview! :D

Okay guys, here’s what we’ve got!

  • Married - 11-09-2017
  • I-130 sent - 12-20-2017
  • I-130 NOA1 - 12-22-2017
  • I-130 approved - 7-16-2018
  • Sent to NVC - 7-17-2018
  • NVC received - 7-19-2018
  • Paid IV fee - 8-14-2018
  • Paid AOS fee - 8-14-2018
  • Submitted DS-260 - 8-16-2018
  • AOS submitted to NVC - 8-16-2018
  • Case Reviewed - 8-29-2018
  • Submitted corrected docs - 8-30-2018

Our case is a little different as they never fully finalized our civil docs section when they reviewed our stuff on 8/29. I received the incorrect forms notice, but they never accepted or rejected any of the docs in the civil docs section. AOS docs were approved and accepted no problem. I went ahead and submitted the two corrected docs in the supporting section and resubmitted. After speaking with several people at the NVC, our case has been flagged for a supervisor review. I was asked to call back on a Friday if I haven’t seen an approval before then. Since they did not finalize the civil docs section, we are technically falling under the three week window for when we originally submitted the docs the first time. The officers can see where we actually should have received a cc on 8/23 and been able to upload docs later as our only issues were one silly doc turned sideways on me and I failed to combine the birth certificate and translation together (I submitted them separately). Unfortunately they can’t help us much more than they already have because we’re still in the original 3 week window. So now we wait...

I have submitted the DS-260 and AOS. I have submitted most of the civil docs, but does anyone know what they mean by photographs? I tried to find it on the NVC website. I also stayed on hold with the NVC for 50 min before giving up tonight. Anyone know what they are meaning by photographs? Also, I thought the criminal background check wasn't needed until the interview, but it appears that they want it now. Any clarification on that? I submitted most of this stuff last week, but I am waiting on the background check and clarification on the photographs. Thanks guys, grateful to be added to this thread.  Are all of you filing electronically too?

I had a lawyer filling out our paperwork and things and he was surprised that they now require a 2x2 passport photo of the beneficiary with these documents.  I didn't have one so i had to run out and go get a passport photo done at walmart for this.  You do need to upload the police check at this stage as well.  I'm filing electronically as well.

Photographs means passport size photograph of the beneficiary.

You need police certificate from all countries beneficiary has lived since age of 16.

I saw that September 18th thing too. The RCMP went ahead and did a fingerprint one simply because he requested it today, and they said it would take about 2 weeks to get back to him. So by then, it'll be close to Sept. 18th.

WTH. It says "As of September 10, 2018", I submitted my docs to NVC on August 29, so I don't think it applies to me. But, since I'll have my interview after September 10, it might as well apply to me. I am confused if this applies to folks like me who submitted their police certificate before September 10. This is bollocks!

@NikLR, @Ontarkie, @pushbrk I wonder what you guys think?
