Believe it or not but the Embassy solely focuses on your mom and barely cares about you or your pregnancy. It's up to your mom to proof the Embassy she will return home, that she has strong home ties (e.g. a house, a lease, a steady job etc)

If you search this forum a little more, you will find multiple topics on this matter. Invitation letters and such from the US resident family has no value.

01/13/2016: I-129F filed  07/15/2016: K-1 visa in hand

The embassies operate on the presumption that tourist visa applicants have immigrant intent. It is the applicant's responsibility to overcome that presumption by showing very strong ties to their home country and convincing the officer that they will come home and are not a risk for overstay. Your pregnancy makes your mom 100% an overstay risk. The letter does not show any strong ties that bind your mother to her home country (in fact, it does the opposite and only increases her overstay risk), so it's not a useful item for this application.

If I were you I definitely wouldn't. Someone could infer that you want her to come "work". In fact, the letter could hurt more than help. I wouldn't send one.

There’s problem with our embassy (Uzbekistan) that they really appreciate if US resident is pregnant and CO usually issues visa for whom who’s daughter(in-law) is having baby. For sure it depends on certain embassies but that’s what I know about my country

Well if you know that for sure then it’s a bit confusing as to why you asked if anyone knew “of this situation” in your opening post, but it would seem you have all you need then to satisfy the embassy in Uzbekistan.  Let us know how the visa interview goes.

Embassy is not there for social services. Unfortunately the way I see it, You would probably try to immigrate your mom. Your husband should be the sole provider.

Geez then it's a good thing I'm not from Uzbekistan or my family would have no chance to ever visit me as we are a childless couple and always will be.

Hi!

I'm a green card holder through K1 visa. Pregnant and really need my mom being next to me while baby delivery. Today I want to apply for her B1/B2 visa (as she doesnt know english, Im just doing paperwork for her) but I'm confused what to chose as a visa purpose: tourism or other(baby shower).

Also have OB letter that proof of my pregnancy and need mom's support.  what you guys can advise in this case? Has anyone had this kind of situation?

It's not going to help your mom get a tourist visa.  Probably hurt her chances more than help it.  Also no address or phone contact information on letterhead makes the letter look fake anyways.  Not that they would even look at it.

I am going to be blunt, but your mother will have to stay home unless she has very very very strong ties to her country. The refusal rate for her country is 50%, which is very high. To get a tourist visa, she has to have an exceptional travel background, which I personally doubt. There's no visa "to help with a baby". That will be considered as work and is NOT allowed on tourist visa.

Consider hiring babysitter if you need help with your baby. Sorry for the harsh truth.

It’s ok. I appreciate each advice whatever it’s harsh or nice. All I want is my mom to be next to me during and after delivery. I just missed her so much.

What about her ties; she has enough strong ties as well as property, bunch of grandkids around her, my siblings... I’m the only one who’s in USA so she definitely won’t stay here coz she can’t live here just coz of all our family live in Uzb.
