Hello, I have a few questions I would like to ask you. I am a Filipino Citizen and my Partner is here visiting me currently. We would like to get marries but as you know Marriage is not legalized in the Philippines. I did some research and I heard about the Holy Union. I would like to know if that would suffice as Proof of Marriage to obtain a spousal Visa to go to the US with him. Please let me know you any of you have info or experience with this.

Thank you kindly,

Regards, Felix.

my guess would be no, as it is not recognized as a legal marriage.

If your fiance can not travel to the US to get married, you could marry in a 3rd country where it is legal and he can travel to. Otherwise, file for a K1.

Why you are not going for K1 instead?...same sex marriage is not legal in my country too...so v filed for K1 ..its simpler and less time consuming ..than CR spousal visa

Yes, K1 is a very good idea but not in our case. My boyfriend can't meet the poverty guidelines coz he is under disability and stop working three years ago. So in order for my partner to meet the poverty guidelines he needs a co-sponsor whether it's his parents, sister, friend or relative. K1 don't allow co-sponsor, but CR1 spouse visa do.

K-1 visa does allow co-sponsor, plus you need less income for K-1 than CR-1

Very quick google, plus I thought the PI did not require a I 134?

Okay thanks. because the consultant told me that the poverty guideline for California with zero dependent is 20,000USD/Year

the number is correct, but its based on federal poverty guidelines not state.

$20K in california, you're homeless and living under a bridge FYI ...

You will have to reach that minimum regardless of K1 or CR1 (initially for K1 it is slightly lower but for AOS it has to be higher)
