Hello,

All of the documents for my spouse's visa were approved by the NVC without any additional comments other than about my domicile. But now, just 3 weeks before the visa interview, the embassy wants a I-864 joint sponsor, because I haven't earned U.S. income. I already have someone to cover this requirement, but has anyone else experienced this last minute hurdle by the US embassy? I don't recall ever hearing about this requirement, nor has the NVC brought up this as a concern.

Get it before your interview so you don't experience any delay in visa issuance.

At least you got this requested before the interview.   Ive seen many getting asked during the interview holding up their visa processing.

Nothing to be concerned just have the documents ready at interview.  Good luck!
