Update: I got fingerprinted today and my expected approval time decreased by 2 months. Despite Houston's reputation for being impacted, the Sugar Land ASC that handles the eastern half of Houston Metro's cases has just 5-6 people today, and I don't even need to wait. In addition, were you 5-printed or 10-printed...?

Also did biometrics today, in and out in 10 mins.  Time to process the N-400 decreased by 2 months as well, now down to 13 months.  Will be interesting to see how accurate these time frames are.

Could someone advise, please!

I am in the process of applying online and noticed that they require IRS CERTIFIED tax returns. is that right?? can I just submit our tax returns as we filed them, without them being IRS certified (like a copy of our TurboTax file?)

I dont think you need anything beside green card # when applying. All those documents you need to bring with you on the interview but i believe are not required for applying.

You do need to submit documents. If you do not upload docs then you will receive a notice requesting more info. The ist of documents to be uploaded are given on the USCIS website. Also, you can upload the TURBOTAX returns but to be on the safer side I downloaded the IRS certified returns for three years. The process to procure that is very easy and can be done online. You can also download the IRS cert docu immediately..

Hope this helps

Thank you  for the input, TomEn!  I tried to get the transcripts online, but I didn't work. I have to wait for them to come in the mail...which can take up to 10 business days. So I am trying to decide whether I should upload what I have or wait for the transcripts to arrive.

Worth waiting, the transcripts get there really fast.  I also had problems online and had them mailed.  Good luck!

@Amelie123 no porb. It is worth the wait, since you can use the transcripts that you receive by mail during your interview as well. Scan 'em and keep 'em on your comp so it would be easy to upload and use later.

Hey guys, I have a question that I want to consult you all. I submitted my n400 online on Sept. 9 and finished my biometrics. Now I'm planning to travel outside out the US for a month from mid-December to mid-January. So my question is: Do I have to report my travel to USCIS or do anything else with USCIS? If yes, how can/should I do it?

I'm applying from Dallas & my application is estimated to complete in 24 months... I don't think the interview letter is going arrive in December or January though.

I believe you have to report about your trip during your interview if being asked.

Safe travels.

Also save all your travel documents that includes boarding passes or ticket or any proof you travelled outside US.

Thank you for your answers!

So that means I don't have to tell USCIS in advance about my trip right?
