According to informed delivery i have a USCIS letter in the mail but i wont be able to get it until the weekend (3.5 hour drive)... Im wondering if its biometrics.

False alarm... Had a friend check the mail and its another 18 month extention letter!... Thats the third one ive received. Why did i receive three???

 

Worried for nothing. Had my friend drive to the house to check the mail on christmas eve for nothing.

can anyone help me with my case i sent my i 751 on 11-23-18 and then i called to get my receipt number i was told i can contact them after 12-26-18 if i dont get my notice NOA1 so i sent online e request for not delivery of notice on 12-27-18 i received email on 12-29-18.they replied'we researched status of your case.we have sent you receipt notice"what does it mean are they saying they sent notice after i sent e request or they sent it already even before receiving my request and sent it soon after receiving my i751 package in november 2018 can anyone explain

It's the holidays. Mail and government is barely functional. Patience is key. Barely been a month. No need to freak out.

By now you should have gotten a Biometrics appointment.  You can try calling USCIS directly and see what happened--if one appointment was scheduled.  

 

Or you can try to go to your local biometrics office and see if they'll take you as a walk-in.

 

As to the gov't shutdown being a cause of the delay, there's no way to say it is as it's already January and most September filers have had their appointments at this point.  With the missing NOA1s though it did cause a major delay and much confusion.

 

As a side note, it has been 4 months since we all filed our applications.

 

How is everyone holding up?  Almost halfway through the wait process :)

I think your statement that most September 2018 filing individuals have had their appointments is a jump, I dont believe any have I'd place money on 95 percent of us still waiting on biometric appointments.

 

With an average case processing time of 22 months, all we can do is wait through the process.

 

As long as you have your extension letter you are fine.
