So quick update, check was cashed by USCIS very early this morning, so I suspect we'll be getting our NOA in the mail this week.

Will keep you all posted!

Just as a note, the Texas Center took almost a week to cash the check.  I'll be curious to see when the NOA is dated.

Congrats! Did you file a E-notification with your petition?

We ended up not filing a G-1145 application, it wasn't a huge deal for us.

We've essentially mentally prepared ourselves that this train is a year commitment lol.

FYI: I just received E-verification (package delivered to Texas service center on September 12, 2018).

Your case was received. Receipt # LIN18906XXXXX. Official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) to follow in mail.

A question:  What does LIN mean? Another service center?

Thank you guys!

I am pretty sure it’s fine and wouldn’t be too concerned. Mine got delivered on Saturday, it was saying ready for pick up and then it said delivered super early (like 3.25am!!!!!) on Monday morning. So either way they have not picked up the packets from the PO Box yet (who knows if they have specific times/days when they go there etc) or maybe the USPS hasn’t updated their tracking (that can happen as well).

does anyone know what will happen if your green card expires before you get your NOA1?

There shouldn't be any issue--the issue usually stems down from that fact that your green card expires before a USCIS service center receives your application.

In which case you have to explain why you're filing late.  The NOA acts as a one year extension of your green card.
