I tried scheduling the info pass (sacramento offici) yesterday through the website but it directed me to the message box. So I called uscis this morning told them that I was having a hard time making an appointment and I needed the stamp to renew my drivers license and work gaming license. The lady said to call back after oct 27 if i havent received my NOA. so i just hung up because i was a little frustrated. 2 hrs later, I got a message from uscis stating that I have an appointment on monday 10/22. p

Same happened to me. It directed me to the message box. So I left a message and will see if I get a response. It was giving me nly option for offices 4-4.5 hours away when Jacksonville,FL office is less than 2 miles away. So we shall see.

I guess it has something to do with the area code. have you tried asking them if they can schedule for you?

I just googled Jacksonville’s zipcode to at least let me get in touch with their office.

I don’t understand tho how come mail takes so long to get to us if they mailed it a month ago.

Hi everyone,

I also asked about fingerprints and he said (confirmed) lot of people have not had to do them again.

Hi @Miki28

Did the representative say on the phone that the biometrics (fingerprint) appointments is not necessary for us?

We do not go to the biometrics/fingerprint?

Is my understanding correct?

👆 Let's go to this thread to discuss the timelines in Nebraska (LIN) center! 👆

No he said it’s “case-by-case” bases. He said that there have been people who didn’t have to go because their old fingerprints were re-used.

Heard back from Jacksonville. They can’t help me. 😂😂😂

Do i need to surrender my GC in order to get the I551 stamp?

It depends on your local Office - some keep a green card in exchange for a stamp,  some - don't.

Couple copies of your conditional green card should be made before you go for I-551 stamp -  in case if it's kept by USCIS.

Is it okay to travel Outside the country with the I-551 stamp and without the expired green card. I haven't receive my Noa. tier 1 officer told me the receipt was sent out 9/27.  My gc is expiring in 4 weeks. My drivers license and job license are expiring on the same day my GC is expiring.

We are traveling on march 2019.

It's absolutely ok :)

I traveled out of the US in August-September of this year, with a I-551 stamp only - my green card got kept by my local USCIS Office.

Everything was smooth and without any issues. The only thing - on my way back, right after passport control a CBP officer took my passport to  validate my status in the system. I got my passport back within 10 or 15  minutes. And it was Chicago, which is pretty huge and busy airport. The Officer explained me that nothing was personal :) just everyone with the stamp has to be verified in the system. That's it.

A lot of USCIS offices don't really like giving a stamp if your green card is not expired yet. I'd suggest to make an appointment closer to your green card expiration date, like about 2 weeks or so.

Awesome, were you the member that called earlier and they told you they couldn't find it?

Also when I called I had to be transferred since the first agent said they couldn't do it, are you guys being transferred?

No, i wasn't the member that called earlier. The agent was trying to push me away, but I told her I know she could see the numbers and I want it.

I received a 8 year real ID in the state of Nevada, when I just received my 2 year green card. I feel blessed reading about all your troubles....

I'm  afraid that NOA wouldn't come on time with all the delays that's been happening. I need to renew my DL and gaming license badge for my job. 😭😣 The uscis set me an appointment for the 22nd.

Today's USCIS news website...

My guess is that they may be troubleshooting the system and now that they hopefully fixed it, they have started sending out NOAs, both re-sending the earlier ones with errors, and hopefully the ones that were pending from mid-Aug... thats my guess though.

My DL is my problem too the expiration is same as my Gc which is oct 24. I am off tom at work and I am

thinking twice if I should try and renew my license without the NOA. I track my status and it said that they received my application and I don’t need to do anything. I got e notification too that my case was received and Noa is to follow in the mail. I just dont want to spend the whole day at dmv for nothing. Im in Virginia anyone here a Va resident?

You have all reasonable explanations why you need the stamp now, so your request shouldn't be denied.

Good luck with your Infopass!
