How long take to receive I-751 recipt notice ?

My check was cashed on 20th and waiting for the receipt. From the forum it looks like whose checks (Vermomt)

got cashed around 10th have started to get their receipt. For California its even slower than that. You can check myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov, that would show that your case was received if it goves you some peace of mind.

Just FYI, the new account everyone had been talking about still has my case as received, no further action necessary. The old account first didn't show anything, more states "biometrics reviewed".

Why on earth do they make it so that the Stamp invalidates the GC and extension letter? Doesn’t that defeat the object of us needing the stamp while waiting for the extension letter.

I wanted to share my unique I-751 experience...or pathing..

 

I entered the country on a IR-1 Greencard in 2012 with no restrictions. (10 year greencard)

 

In April of this year (2018) I submitted my N-400 for naturalization, all was going well, I got my final letter to for my interview.

 

I arrived at the center and was all ready to take the exam and such, however the officer let me know that they will not be able to continue with my naturalization process as when they had issued my greencard it had incorrectly been given the status of IR-1 with no restrictions when it should have been CR-1 having restrictions and having had me file a I-751 many years back. This was something that I never thought to question.

 

He stated that until I submit and am approved for the removal of restrictions by filing the I-751 my case is on hold.

 

I was able to receive a letter from the field office Director confirming that it was a processing error on their end and that I should submit my I-751 within 30 days.

 

I was able to get my I-751 submitted the very next day with an overwhelming amount of evidence; 8 years of marriage and 2 kids.... - I-751 was delivered on 9/24

 

I am concerned with the I-751 being so late, 6 years late, as well as the effect this is going to have on my naturalization time line. I am imaging at least a 2 year delay. Though I am sitting on on constant pins and needles till I hear more about my I-751 application.

 

Now the great waiting game starts, firstly for the I-751 processing and then to see how long it takes for them to re-schedule my naturalization interview

To be fair, the stamp is not part of the usual process for the removal of conditions situation.  It’s a temporary patch to potentially deal with the uncertainty.

 

Im not a hundred percent sure if this is the norm or just one officer/office’s take on the I-551 stamp.

 

In an ideal situation no one submitting their I-751 should ever need the stamp because you’d have a physical extension letter as your proof.

 

Its frustrating but at this point I’d ask for a replacement extension letter.  Mind you, the last time I spoke with a Tier 1 officer they said the letters were taking 60 days to reach us.

 

More than likely you’ll have your biometrics letters before you receive the hard copy of your NOA and if you still don’t have it by your appointment, call USCIS or request online that a new letter be sent to you.

I’m not sure what to do. I lost my green card within the 90 days before it expired so I couldn’t get a replacement I had to file for the ROC... so I’ve been offered a job and all I have is a photocopy of my expired GC (yes, it’s expired now 😞 ) and a social security card with the restrictions on it. I’m definitely not going to get the NoA letter any time soon so I guess I’ll just have to settle for the stamp? And then request another extension letter... is that what happens? This is so confusing.

I can definitely see how you've hit a rough patch and it's definitely a unique situation you're in.

 

There isn't a right or wrong answer here.  You kind of have to make rules and find back doors where you go in order to get some resolution.  Unfortunately it is a waiting game right now.

 

You could be honest with the job and explain the situation and that you'll produce your NOA the moment it arrives-- but it's completed up to the job.  They have their procedures.

I just received the NOA1 (extension letter). My I-751 was received on 9/17/2018.

But the problem is: I only received one extension letter and my son's name is not on this letter, although I included his case in the I-751 since he is a minor and got green card at the same day as me.

He is going to apply for driver's license soon, but I have no idea how to prove his legal status.

USCIS forgot add his name on the Extension Letter? or USCIS should also issue another Extension Letter for him?

Any suggestion? Thank you!

 No suggestion other than calling USCIS on Monday. However congrats! Super exciting to see someone getting NOA !
