My case is at SRC as well. I got that text 3 weeks ago and still no NOA in the mail. Just a heads up that it won’t likely get to you within said 7-10 days

Yeah,

My case has the same dates as @Miki28 , and also is in SRC. It has been 3 loooong weeks waiting and still no NOA and fingerprints app in the mail. :(

@londongal I had an infopass appt today (which I scheduled before I got to know about my case number over the phone) and the officer gave me the following options:

1. Get my passport stamped for a year, in which case I would have to turn in my GC and also the NOA that is on its way won't work as an extension.

2. Wait for the NOA to arrive and which will most likely come with an 18-month extension.

I decided to wait for the NOA. Hope this gives you an idea of what to expect at your infopass appt.

That is a hilarious loophole! That your state issues driver’s licenses beyond your lawful presence is a huge boon. California - my state - ties it to the end of my 2-year green card. No loophole for us. 😕

My Husbands DL is also valid until 2023 even though he only had a 2 year green card 😆 So his DL and social security card is all he needs to continue working?

His job hasn't said anything about his green card expiring yet. It expires 11/28/2018.

I used to be DACA and adjusted my status through marriage so my DL is valid until 2022. I went to Social's Security office today so I can replace lost card and remove the "Valid for work only" thing on the card. My job hasn't asked me for anything yet which is weird since when I was DACA they would always send me a 90 day letter to resubmit documents and this time they haven't (Maybe because I have a GC now, not sure)

I tried to call USCIS but they were busy so they said they would call me in 400 minutes (automated machine) I just need to get my receipt number.

From what I’ve read on the I-9 instructions, that does seem like all you need. :)

I-9 is an employer obligation. I intend to let mine know if they don’t ask, of course, but not until I have my I-797 letter.

His job hasn't said anything about his green card expiring yet. It expires 11/28/2018.

His DL and his social security card that is "clean"-- does NOT have "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" written on it. He can go to the SSA office and order a new one if he doesn't have a clean one yet.

His job is prohibited by law from re-validating a green card they have already checked, precisely for this exact reason. Everyone here is freaking out about this needlessly. The issue is getting a NEW job, if necessary with the expired green card. It will be 1000 times easier with a DL and clean SSA card but everyone here is laser focused on the NOA1, which technically is NOT on the list of approved documents for proving legal status to work.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

Huh, okay. Good points. It’ll be interesting to see how our various employers go about handling this. Mine told me upon hiring they would need to see new permission to work when my GC expired.

I just got a call from USCIS and while my case was delivered on 9/4/18 and check cashed on 9/27/18 they don't have anything in the system for my case -_- The officer said that my case probably hasn't been uploaded and that's why there is no receipt number. I really wish I would have sent that form but totally forgot!

She told me to call in a week and yeah its annoying. I was following the rules and sending everything in a timely manner GC still valid till 11.29.18 so I'm not freaking out yet but annoyed that I can't track my case. Hopefully its not lost since they did cash my check -__-

You can show it to them if you want to, but they aren't allowed to do it. They also are unlikely to realize that they aren't allowed to do it, and just think that they're doing the right thing, having had the bejezus scared out of them a million times and given a very complicated set of rules to follow.

You can proceed however you wish. It's easy for me to be a keyboard warrior and say you should make a stand for yours and immigrants' in general rights but I'm a US citizen by birth and it's not my job on the line. At a minimum, if they try to terminate you over it, I would make a fuss, and by "make a fuss" I mean "sue them into bankruptcy".

Thanks for your opinions/insights, they are genuinely appreciated. I doubt they’d want to terminate me, I just made the (possibly specious) assumption that a multi-billion dollar company’s HR department had its stuff together. Though, I wonder how many conditional permanent residents work for them? Not many probably.

I’ll update my experiences after Nov 26 when my green card expires. :)
