That's not the change, though. Rejected is sent back at *this* stage-- basically by the mailroom clerk (well, steps above that) for being incomplete. The only problem with that is re-sending it. The policy change was between RFEs and NOIDs (Notice of Intent to Deny). Rejection is different than denial. So I'm wondering (I don't know) but wondering if because the green card is listed as the initial evdience requirement if it would be rejected at this stage instead of pushed through waiting for an RFE

If it helps, I forgot something in our I-129f (just a check box about if your fiance had been to the US before, I left it blank by accident because it had a weird placement on the form). I had our receipt number, and sent in a fresh page with that question answered, a copy of NOA1 with the barcode and a little note explaining what this was for. I have NO idea if it got there or if it helped, but we were approved a week later. If it's not rejected at this stage, and you're waiting for the RFE you know is coming, you may want to try that approach and see if it helps.

Having spoken with USCIS on the matter, I was told to expect the petition to be accepted and then receive and then await the RFE for the green card copies. I figured it was better to wait and do what they suggested rather than make up stuff by myself. xD

@bariki Just curious, would you take a rejection and apply again or RFE if given a choice

If there were no consequences? A flat rejection and receiving everything back - then re-filing at the less busy service centers might shave months off of the process. The end-to-end on this RFE-laden process at CSC looks like it'll take around 2 years.

But, N-400 is coming so *shrugs* six of one, half a dozen of another.

It's clear that Texas Service Center filers CANNOT receive the hard copy of I-797 on time after their cases receipt, although the E-notification says you should got it in 7-10 days.

What should we do? We need this extension letter for driver's license and job renewal.

I'm going to give USCIS a call--haven't received the hard copy yet either.

I don't have my husband's USCIS number though for the application so it's a shot in the dark depending on who I speak with.

I'd try the same and see what they recommend.

Interesting, you sent your before the change but if your check was cashed in Chicago, it appears California is redirecting the files.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, were you given your USCIS number yet?

Yeah, everyone in the August filers forum who sent to CSC after 8/10 or so is reporting their checks being cashed in all different places--Texas, Illinois, Arizona. Appears CSC is redirecting all over. Not clear yet what logic they're using to decide whose file goes where.

Edit: clarified that only those who sent to CSC in August were seeing the redirects

Can't blame CA honestly--they need the help.  Almost two years to review a file.  It wasn't that bad a few years ago.
